What did anyone make of Daddy Ks headgear ????

I thought he was VERY lenient in the first half. Obviously he was trying to let the game flow, but Pressley had a couple of hefty challenges on Sproule which were clearly premeditated, and didn't even result in fouls.

I also thought he was slow to book Elliott who could have earned himself a red card by the time he was booked. He seems to have learned a few habits from Rudolph.

Sproule got what he deserved for a moment of madness, but I could see it building up even in the first half as several brutal challenges didn't even result in a talking to.

Having said that we really need a ballbreaker in midfield ourselves.
 
FWIW I thought the penalty offence was outside the box - boy was he keen to get into the box to be fouled. While Ivan was crazy, it is worth watching the incident to see how the Hearts player dives for a foul immediately before hand, then looks at the ref before writhing in agony.

Why can't we be streetwise like other teams?

Despite this, no complaints about the result.
 
Archie- good points. I left at 3-0 and went to Glasgow Green to watch my youngest sister playing a cup tie for her team. Got there just on half time and she asked if we had been unlucky. I thought about it and said we were naive and got beaten by a 'smarter' team.

Hearts knew to attack the Hibs right hand side, given the slightly unfamiliar look of it; they knew when to tackle heavily, even if it cost a foul; they knew when to sit in and wait for their chance; they knew when to break up the play in the second half; they had done their homework.

I think we are such a small side, that we allowed them to bully us off the ball on occasion. My mate is Performance Director for Northern Rugby club, he was in fits over the size of our little lads against the larger YAMS - he would not even have them on the same park and without being heightest, he is spot on.

That said, the YAMS were the ones that actually got battered:

As for the Conclaves incident, I wouldnae be surprised if he gets hauled up before the beaks for that. From where all I was sitting, all Craig Gordon did was to quite rightly show concern for a team-mate.

My only thought having looked at it on replay was that the foul started well out of the box. No question it was a foul.

Same, he looked scarily lifeless at one point, and i was quite releaved to see some movement from him.

Can't disagree with most of that mate.

I can't help thinking Dougal was overcompensating for that derby a few years ago when he booked everyone for their first foul, culminating in Brebner's straight red. I thought a couple of players could have used a good talking to in the first half, if not yellow cards.

Goncalves was down for a very long time, but the ref cocked up there by not listening to Craig Gordon. He was trying to tell him the boy was in serious trouble and to book Gordon just made things worse. I think Dougal's a decent ref but he has a tendency to make a decision before he understands a situation.

Well done to the Hibbies round me who remembered it was just a game by applauding Goncalves as he was stretchered away. I think he acknowledged this too.

Rudolf's general fannying around and lack of respect for the same game of football puts things in a different perspective however... What a thoroughbred arsehole he is.

Yeah he did, he appluaded us (as much as he could).

This is only the second time I've been disappointed with Tony btw, but he needs to sort it out. He talks of motivating, psychological insight etc. There was none today, he led the lads to doom. Proud he might've been, but there is a time to wiley and he has to learn that.

Cheers K. I asked because a mate (A Decent Yam) phoned me earlier to say that he couldn't believe just how negative Mogga was in the pre match SKY TV interview. I politely told him not to be an erse but he said the SKY studio were suprised at how defeatist he was being.

'BELIEF' You say K. It appears the team didn't have it, the manager didn't have it and too many who bothered to turn up didn't have it. Saddest day in my Hibby life.:sad

We can win all these political struggles (and we will win the next one..:sad :yeah: ) but it would be good to see us win at the game of football, in a way, a club of our proud stature should.
