I watched the last 15 minutes and saw the Magyars' third and fourth goals. I count most goals against England as beauties but these two certainly were. For the third one, Hungary went from passing the ball near-suicidally back and forth across their own goalmouth to suddenly getting up the pitch with a few crisp first-time passes and then finishing off the move with an absolute screamer of a shot from the edge of the England penalty area. It's how Hibs would have been playing if only Shaun Maloney had been given a bit more time...

Unlike Scotland, England have a striker they can normally rely on for goals....their problem is they are far too dependant on him.
Hungary were superb last night. Terrific movement in the last third and some great goals. They also defended well as a team.
England looked depleted and knackered. Southgate having to rest players and play fringe players and it showed big time.

England are a decent team and will be one of the favourites in Qatar, but I just don't think they are anywhere near good enough to win a world cup, especially given where it will be played. They are hyping themselves up again big time due to getting to the Euros final and the semis of the last world cup, but they have generally played much weaker nations during these tournaments. Whenever they play any country of stature they fail. Their big chance was last summer in the Euros. They completely blew that one, and deep down they know that was the best chance they will ever have of winning a tournament.

Yip , they need home advantage and a russian linesman 🤣 don’t know when they’ll ever get the latter again 😩
 
The problem with the English national team is down to their ‘best league in the world’. It’s blinded them to the fact that their leagues are chock full of talented foreigners getting paid millions whilst their home grown players populating the national team aren’t up to the same standard.
How do they redress that?
Who cares. Fuck them. But that’s the issue right there.

spot on Beagle, it’s staring them in the face but they can’t see it, like you I’m in the fuck them camp.
 
English match host talking about it surely not being beyond England as one of the best teams in the world to reach the world cup final 🤪😆. They are ranked 8th in the world and ranking doesn't come into it in a cup competition whether it's club or country.

Beaten twice by Hungary. Hilarious is the word.

(I grew up after the age of 8 in England. Love their Football team falling over.)
