It' a relief that, having watched that match tonight, that mob aren't going to win the world cup to ram it down our throats for another 40 years:phew
That sorta implies they have finished going on about the last time...which they haven't.
I do dread to think what would happen if they did win, I mean them kicking their way to the Rugby world cup was bad enough to deal with.
Robert Green,the white Maka
Actually, I didn't think it was as bad as it is with the football. At least they won that fair & square without the help of a Russian linesman:MG

Which is nice :worthy
The big winners today were Mr Hills and Mr Ladbrokes.

England should have won that game comfortably last night on chances created and possession.

I agree. They are absolutely awful! When will the general populace waken up to the fact these guys are an over-hyped, self-important, vastly overpaid bunch of imposters! Let's not forget that they have a top manager, facilities and treatment that royalty might expect. The only thing missing is genuine technical ability.
England should have won that game comfortably last night on chances created and possession. An awful goalkeeper blunder gave the USA a draw, but England only have themselves to blame. I actually thought they played quite well overall. They had great performances from Gerrard (as usual). Johnson, Lennon, and Heskey. Rooney as usual flattered to deceive on the big occasion, though I feel he will get better as the tournament progresses.
I think England will win their next two games and top the group. I also think they will improve as the campaign moves on.

Luckily I had this one down for a draw in the pub predictor so at the very least I got a free pint:boozy

Your quote reads very similer to what all of the English camp were saying straight after the final whistle.
No one has pointed out England's vunrubility in defence - the USA had the best two chances in the game and yes England were the better team but surley that was to be expected and of course they will be expected to win their next two games but the problems will arrise when they have to play a half decent team in the KO stages.
To echo EGB - England are rubbish.
Did anyone see the build up to the game when they were speaking to USA and England fans?
I couldn't believe it. The USA fans were FAR more irritating than the Engerlish, and bizarrely it was almost like they knew what they were talking about. IMO Englands '66 gloats would be nothing compared to what the yanks would subject the world to in the unlikely event they were ever to win the WC.
Aye but we don't have to share a border with the Yanks or be force-fed their media

Thankfully. Spare a thought for the Mexicans though![]()

What I find surprising is the lack of forward options for England. Take away Rooney and what do you have?
England were absolute crap last night they got the ideal start and then done fuck all for the rest of the game and resorted to a hoof up field to Heskey,Capello will have to go back to the drawing board as there were major problems with that side last night.Does he keep faith with the keeper,if King is doubtful with Carragher and Terry they have no pace in central defence,Midfield is a nightmare Gerrard and Lampard seem to have no defined roles and did not dominate like people expect, has he the balls to drop one of them i dont think so,also not much end product on the wings and Heskey is not the answer up front.
:laff:Two average teams slogging it out although England were slightly better keeping the USA under pressure in spells. I hope England go through only to be utterly humiliated by one of the better teams.
