They have some good players, but far too many are overhyped beyond belief by the Sky Sports brigade.
In an English Premiership totally dominated by foreign mercenaries and financed by overseas crooks and sky sports money, they think their league is the best in the world so it should follow that the England team is one of the best in the world.
They had a genuine chance of winning a tournament in the summer of 2021 when all but one of their games was at Wembley and they totally blew it and were shown up. Reality hit them.
That was their chance....they won't get another one and it certainly won't be the Qatar World Cup.

I'm surprised if has taken so long , for the saturation of foreign players in their league , to show on their international team.
I always take note of the lack of English players in the team sheets on MOTD. Sometimes there is only 1 English player in each team. At most 6 out the 22.
And Southgate is a chinless wonder. They very rarely have any likeable chaps kicking about their squad. And the fans 😝😝😝😝.

England don't have a top league any more.
What they have are hedgefunds and investment opportunities.
Every year they die a little more.
Newcastle was a big domino to fall last season.

@Greenmachine and @tayside hibee are spot on with their assessment of the English game. Doesn’t look as if the penny is going drop any time soon with their fans or media though. They’ll punt Southgate (who, from what little I’ve seen of him, comes across as a decent sort) as the patsy for the failure and they’ll be back to jizzing themselves over their foreign imports every weekend until their next international embarrassment.

Will they dump him before world cup though 🤷‍♂️

No I don't think so.
He'll get this world cup because to be honest I think he has done quite a good job as England manager and deserves that credit in the bank.
World Cup semi-finalists last time out and Euro finalists as well. That's as good as anyone could have done.
After the Qatar WC though he will be gone IMO.

Too close too the competition now I'd say to bringing in a new man, unless they've already someone lined up. , it's not as if there's loads of candidates out there to take over anyway especially if they are looking to appoint another Englishman
