This is the creeping nature of PC.

PC has been twisted so immeasurably that I'm entirely against what it has become. Something that started with such worthy awareness creation has now been melded into shit that was predicted in 1948.

This article is pretty disturbing from an educational perspective and for what it points to as the future of the people that will be running, at least, America.

Im a liberal professor, and my liberal students terrify me - Vox

I don't think it ever had noble roots. The idea that pc is 'what we used to call good manners' is hogwash. Good manners are what we used to call good manners.

PC is a specific philosophy based in Gramsci and the Frankfurt school and hijacks actual good causes - eg anti racism - to its ends; dismantling social norms to collapse the status quo and self sustaining society and replace with its own utopia.

Thanks for the link - this stuff is getting really dismal now, with its influence in tertiary education particularly worrying. As the western world empties of other cultural and philosophical reference points, this is all too influential on impressionable, young people. The idea that adolescents should now be protected from non pc ideas and that failure to do so is akin to abuse is quite breathtaking. Some - and hopefully it remains a small minority - educators seem not to see they are creating madrasahs of a sort where once we had universities.

Ps reading the article one is reminded that the revolution always eats its own. The claim that liberal educators are more affected than conservatice ones boggles the mind given the vanishingly small number of the latter in America amd their difficulty securing employment. He / she also seems to fail to recognise the connection between a student challenging him from the right and the dismissal of that particular grievance, versus more dangerous challenges and why they are more dangerous.

Here's another cracker - a woman's only college will now admit transgender women but exclude from admission transgender men. So many garbled Ideas amd contradictions in so few words. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/05/nyregion/barnard-college-to-accept-transgender-women.html?_r=0

Reminds me of an article i read about a biologically female student who identified as a man and was thus excluded from election to some student body on the basis she was a white male. Through the looking glass stuff.
