Just got an email from Kenny Shiels wishing us all the best with the Turnbull do and saying that he is impressed with what we are doing.

Always liked the guy but taking the time to do that is the clincher for me. He's the man!!

He is - a sound bloke too. Speaks his mind and was good enough to take time to write to us and wish us all the best.

son Dean started playing for Hibs and i am very much inspired by everything
about the club and also the quality of their team".

I have to admit I'm genuinely touched and delighted that he would make the effort to wish us well. I'll call into the Ballymena Showgrounds to watch a game next chance I get.

Sent him a long reply with our thanks and best wishes to him and Dean. Also mentioned that he was welcome to as many comp. tickets as he wants.

Also asked that he mention our raffle to anyone who might want to donate a prize, as he does come into contact with a lot of club board members etc.

Hes a sound guy top bloke. Had the privilege of meeting him at Ivans wedding last summer and he just seemed so down to earth - not an ounce of arrogance or ignorance. He's the Northern Ireland Under 19's boss (i think) but i dont think hes actively involved in club issues at the moment - although ive heard from a friend of a friend that Newry FC are making moves at making him boss.

I'm told he has his critics within the football community here as he always speaks his mind, but I suppose that's the nature of the thing.
