The government intends to have only electric by 2040. Honda have said they will stop producing motorbikes for the UK by 2030 as they have no intention turning electric.
Was an interesting phone in on Sunday on the radio and a few good points made. One was what to do with all the dead batteries as apparently salvage yards won't touch them. Another point was that in traffic jams, if the battery goes, you're stuck.
Obviously technology will increase, but is it likely we would be all electric?
Another point not made I will raise is the fact that the government generate huge taxes from petrol. diesel. How will they raise taxes from charging batteries?
Presumably the health benefits from firstly the war on tobacco and now petrol/diesel will have more people healthy and living longer so less stress on the hospitals and more productivity...on the other hand far more pensions to pay out and longer to keep them going
