Saw a word for the first time on FB.."Cisgender" Looked up wiki but still I have no clue...well ok what I deduced, but I may be way off track, is that I would be non conformist, yet believe myself to be the denoted sex that I was defined by at birth :gaga: Am I on the right lines?

Cisgender is a concept from the post truth era - it rests of inventing the notion of gender as distinct from biological sex, and then on top of that inventing the concept of cis gender to describe the situation where one's gender and biological sex coincide. In short, if you are man who thinks you are a man you are not simply an adult male, you are cisgender adult male. If this doesn't make sense it's because it doesn't.

The idea is that you describing yourself as simply male is discriminating against males with vaginas and uteruses. By properly prefixing with cisgender you are appropriately acknowledging you are simply one kind of male, no more or less valid than your fellow man with the womb and 36c cups.

Worked example; in some US colleges cisgender feminists no longer stage the feminist show 'the vagina monologues' because it makes the assumption that women have Vaginas and therefore excludes women who have penises.

clearly you haven't been keeping up with modern gender politics W - a wise decision I might add. This is what this cisgender business is about - see the bit I added about the vagina monologues for an example that may clarify. If you are confused by what I am saying because it sounds mental - for once it's not my writing; I'm describing something that is mental.
