TBH i was thinking the same when i saw it, does seem a bit much....

The sky did look like that a couple of weeks ago. I took a picture of it myself from the window at work. Funnily enough though, Calton hill in the foreground looks more impressive than Sighthill industrial estate!

I saw it too, and the sky was absolutely astonishing. The colours changed over the course of the sunset, but when I first saw it, it looked like it was on fire, pretty much like the photo. Lots of people put pictures on Twitter, and the BBC did a photo feature on it:
