Edinburgh roads

For Edinburgh council it most certainly is.. village idiots
They are idiots in the Edinburgh CLowncil but a fair amount of the rise in costs came from finding bigger problems than were anticipated once they got down to work.

Imagine the chaos when this starts
Surprised is taken this long tbh, as it will pass near loud university buildings and the hospital, actually for the people living here and not new developments either.
Was the first one cancelled at the very beginning yet they extended it to newhaven before even considering this, the only one from the start that was actually helpful for Edinburgh citizens.
But why stop at the bio quarter? Common sense would say take it to park and ride at sherrifhall 🤷‍♂️
But how chaotic and hugely insufferable will it be to build 👀 i can see lots businesses suffering hugely as the parking will be destroyed throughout. If it ever gets started

Ross N the spark worked on the trams mate and he said the eventual plan is to take them up to Dalkeith/Eskbank way.

That will be way after they sort the Newhaven - Granton- Haymarket problem… so many missed opportunities though, like using the old circular train line in Edinburgh….with inter connecting lines through town

Thank fuck I don't need to travel far these days Stu. Every week there seems to be a road dug up again a few weeks after it was dug up before.

Getting to my lassies can be an expedition sometimes and that's just of the Lasswade Road.

Yeah mate, if only there were people who knew what they were doing in the council….

The Southside is going to be pure chaos when they start the trams unless they use Radcliffe Terrace rather than Minto Street.

Oooft sair one for the person who parked outside my hoose in the only parking space on this side of Craigour Avenue.

They left a tyre about 4" onto the kerb.

They just got a parking ticket by some fucker dressed up in high Viz and on a motorbike.

And wee Mikey popped in to see his dad next door and he got a ticket as well.

The whole reason they double yellied my side of the road was because of dafties parallel parking and blocking the buses.

Or parked right on the bus stop. Fuckin bams mate.

Now the vans in the driveway and I'll need to get a place for my grandson to park. I've gave him the ticket for the game tonight.

Apply for a blue badge Jimmy.

Not due to start until 2030. If it goes ahead that is.
Minto Street is wider, Ratcliffe Terrace/Causewayside is a bit too narrow.

Maybe do away with traffic altogether on Ratcliffe and Causewayside ?

Trams only running airport to the West End again, due to a breakdown today. That might change a few peoples travel plans tonight.

Too many shops and pubs there, they need their deliveries.
Well I can see the traffic getting punted at least one way if Minto Street is used.

To be honest I don't think they give a toss about small businesses mate.

IF the trams end up going to the hossie then I would think some bus routes will be lost.

Then as you say a tram breakdown causes chaos.

Again though the city chambers lot don't give a toss.

They can get taxis on the expense account.

Leith Walk has traffic running both ways along with the Trams. Minto Street is well capable of the same.
They don't care about Council taxpayers too, only Students, Tourists and fckn cycle lanes.

Aye mate but how many years did it take for the system to get running.

Then you have any building work being done to properties on Minto Street. Where are the vans going to park?

My mates got a wood burning stove place. Have you ever felt the weight in one of those?

Have the lads to carry them great distances? Because there is very very little parking off Minto Street.

My Brother's of the Brush will need to just carry the scaffold and ladders from miles away.

Aye, still off. Apparently a bit fell off the offending tram 😆

@EH17 Jimmy
When the trams were off those few weeks traders in Leith reported a fall of income over 35%. Not good when the festivals are there busiest time.

Leith only lost the 22 bus route and a few others changed route, which was a huge benefit for some. When the trams were off it was absolute carnage on the buses, absolutely crammed almost every journey I made no matter what time and I avoid peak times!

It was a pain in the arse when they were being built but those few weeks showed that, long term, it's a massive bonus all round, even if you don't use it!

Well I'm no one for complaining as you know Jack but for me to use the current tram line I need to get the bus. And in doing so don't need to board a tram at all.

Fair play for those it works for though.

The 18 stops outside my hoose and goes to the airport.

But a lot of the schemes out here will still be better served by the buses rather than the trams.

What a fuckin clusterfuck Gilmerton Road is. Stood waiting for a bus that’s been diverted and isnae showing it’s diverted on the app. Thanks LRT ya fuckwits.

Duddingston Park South closure since last Thursday is a feckin nightmare.
Stuck on Milton Road for ages at the week-end.
I felt like Michael Douglas in the movie Falling Down.
Anyone any idea when the road is going to be re-opened ?

Scott was there earlier and said it's a nightmare. Then down Gilmerton Road towards the Inch is the same.

And Danderhall heading towards Sheriffhall is dug up as well.

Apparently it's a water mains pipe requiring urgent repair.
