Interesting snippet I heard. Robinson’s first day at Cormack Park he gets all the players in for the “clean slate” talk then sends them out to train. One first team player who shall remain nameless goes and gets his phone and sits down again. Robinson says “what are you doing?” The player replies “I think I might be injured so I’m waiting for the physio.”
“What makes you think you’re injured?”
“Dunno, just think I might be.”
Methinks Robinson will be wielding the axe soon.

A player like that wouldn't be setting foot on the training field again for me. Fuck having that kind of attitude around. GTF lad and don't come back
I think if Eddie Turnbull or the likes had been the manager, the player would be more in need of a dentist than a physio.

Sounds like the player involved is Nisbet. Not in the know but sounds like the stroke he would pull to get out of pre-season graft
Thought that tae when I was reading the OP.

He’ll either be wielding the axe, or player power will get the better of him and he’ll be out on his arse after a poor start.

Depends a lot on how big a player is in terms of the dressing room, and financial investment by the club.

I've just noticed this😳.
The Sheep have the bye in the opening round of League Cup games, so they've a free Saturday.
But who in their right mind organises a friendly in Belfast on July 11th?😂 Against Linfield🤣? It's not as if Robinson can be unaware of the situation. Maybe he's wanting to showcase some "Quintessentially British Culture"🧟🐻🐻‍❄️🥁🧡 to his new overseas signings.
Kick off 2 o'clock. Considerately gives the fans an extra hour to work on the effigies and bonfires.

Aberdeen are a strange one for next season.
They have at long last appointed a competent, proven manager who knows how to do well in this league, however Cormack still has a huge overbearing influence on things
up there, and I think this has been detrimental to them in the last few years.

Yet again it's all going to be about dealing with expectations. Aberdeen expect to be up there challenging for third every season given their size and budget, Robinson has not managed a club before with that weight of expectation. How he copes with that next season will be interesting to see.
Will he be given enough time to rebuild a club which has massively underperformed in recent years...a weird Scottish Cup win aside.

I’d say their problem with their expectations is that they keep hankering for the Fergie days when they were a good team at European level, rather than modern day budgetary reasons. Much like we pine for a team that can emulate the Tornadoes and the Gunts demand a team that is in keeping with their delusional big team superiority complex.
