The press recently has been filled with news of Celtc players " on the radar " of big clubs in Englandshire and beyond. Wanyama, Hooper, Forrest and now Forster ( who is on Sunderlands list if their own keeper goes ). Needless to say the papers are filled with gasps of horror and fire-spitting outrage at the thought of mighty Smeltic SELLING players.

" Parkhead Chiefs are aware that there will be interest in their players this summer "...:rollfloor Welcome to our world...

As we`ve come to expect, column inches are filled with the usual ex-players, coaches and has-beens waxing lyrical on the glorious merits of staying at " a huge club ". There`s Bertie Auld in the paper today insulting Hull and its citizens, because their football club is daring to show a serious interest in signing Hooper. " Umberellas, sou`westers and fishing....that`s all Hull is good for " declares Bertie. He fails to mention that they are giving him the chance to play in the English Premier League and that with the cash that Hull will receive for being in said league, they could pay 5 or 6 times the wages Celtc could offer.

It`s all in there...." you`ll never play for a bigger club "...." stay at Celtc, you can become a legend " and basically suggesting that even contemplating a move away is tantamount to showing no ambition and a sheer disgrace. It`s all side-splittingly funny because it`s strikingly similiar of how the press react when the manky bastards are linked with any of OUR players......or players from any other club in Scotland.

Similiar but in reverse of course. It`s always given a big headline and continues with the delusion that Celtc ( or SevCo ) is the only way to have a football career. It carrys on with the, " you`ll never play for a bigger club "..." come to Celtc, you can become a legend " and trotted out by the same ex-players, coaches and has-beens. It`s always given the same ridiculous amount of column inches by the same pathetic, compliant weegie hacks who think nothing of setting out to help weaken other sides and thereby maintaining the lack of serious competition in our game that they constantly whinge about. There is NEVER any ex-player of the club being targetted, given space in the same paper to explain why it would be beneficial for a young lads career to stay at the club he`s with. NEVER.

The press in this country have ALWAYS alllowed the bigots to conduct their transfer business through their pages and airwaves. They have ALWAYS allowed ex players and, more disconcertingly, agents to unsettle players in order to make it easier for the OF to lure them away. We`ve seen it so many times. Young promising players heading off to the wild west, seeking glory and within a couple of years the dream has become a nightmare and they`re plying their trade at lower division grounds up and down the land.

Anyhoo, my point is this....Welcome to our world you shower of manky bastards. Big club....my arse! You are now a SELLING club....the same as us. Isn`t life unfair,eh! Having to sell your best players when someone offers them a bigger pay cheque.
You have NO sympathy from anyone outside your despicable club so get used to it and get it right round ye....:thumbgrin

You only need to look at Aiden McGeady to see where Celtic stand; they might do some good business as a stop over for players heading to the top European Leagues, but they are slipping further and further down the food chain.

A couple of misses in Europe - and I think they are coming - will see Celtics budget decimated as the fans turn their backs on them without 'glamour' ties.

The gap between them and us could close significantly - we might struggle to attract 15k for a celtic game, but they struggle to attract more than 30k for a Hibs game, no matter what the pretendance is reputed to be.

Of course when that happens, they won't be able to pay the level of wages they presently do and I guess that will mean third tier english players will be better paid.

Without Rangers and Celtic ranking points the league winner will probably enter the champs league at the first qualifying round. It won't make a blind bit of difference to everyone else in the SPL where they enter in the Europa League and we're unseeded anyway. But for Rangers and Celtic the money could be gone forever.

Sad that it's come to this, and indeed modern football is rubbish.
