Heard Roy Kean on Radio doing his usual bitter rants about the FAI,he mentioned the Ireland v Georgia game,didnt know what he was talking bout,so i looked on youtube

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jf9fx4ipF4Q"]YouTube- Ireland - Georgia RIDICULOUS Penalty[/ame]

Cant see Robbie Keane telling the ref it wasnt a penalty or hearing the FAI demand a replay.?

Roy Keane is such a twat of a man.

They've refused the replay shock horror. Ireland are a small nation, that's why it aint being replayed.

Do you think, maybe, Roy Keane has a wee chip on his shoulder :dunno:

Couldnt agree more with either your Keane or lack of a replay comment.but thats not the point of the thread.

The FAI want a replay because a goal that should never had stood was scored against them and they lost.Against georgia they had a penalty given for them,that should never have been given,they scored it and went on to win the game.

Outrage when it goes against them,silence when it goes for them,double standards?

If you want to ask for replays as the result of a dodgy goal,surely you must react just as strongly when a dodgy goal wins a game for you?

I totally agree, they are hypocrites. That penalty's mental, it's the old adage of things evening themselves out over the course of a season/campaign.

Yes, agree about the decisions levelling out. Bit harsh to say Ireland are hypocrites as its always easier to remember the things that go against you than the decisions in your favour. Anyone would've been raging but I don't subscribe to the theory that this was a conspiracy to get France into the World Cup at Ireland's expense. I can't think of any precedent for a replay under these circumstances. It was the timing of this incident right at the end of the campaign which makes it seem so significant. Remember when Italy were awarded a non-existent free kick against Scotland in the final minutes of the last campaign and scored from it? That was just a bad decision from the ref that time and you still have to defend the free kick but the decision ended our hopes of qualification for Euro 2008.
