I live in Ifield Village which was subsumed into Crawley when Crawley became a New Town in the after WW2.

Crawley Town FC will play at Wembley on Sunday for the first time in their history.

I go and watch them occasionally especially if ex Hibs players are playing against them (e.g Conrad Logan for Mansfield a couple of years ago and Christian Doidge for Forest Green this season).

I've had the please of playing against them in the 80's and have managed Teams against them a couple of times in Sussex Cup Competitions.

The whole Town is buzzing with the thought of going to see Crawley at Wembley (I'll be on holiday).

They beat MK Dons 8-1 over two legs to get to the Final winning the second leg 5-1 at MK Dons.

They play pretty good football.

They have a smallish lad called Liam Kelly who lists among his previous clubs Reading and Rochdale, so not exactly glamorous. But he is the Dylan McGeough of Crawley and an absolute joy to watch. They also have Laurence Maguire (brother of Harry) who is decent, a couple exciting attackers in Klaidi Lolos and Danilo Orsi. They get their fullbacks up the pitch to give them good width.

They are managed by Scott Lindsey (previously of Swindon and managed McKirdy effectively).

The game kicks off at 1pm on Sunday (it's on Sky Sports) and should be a good watch as Crewe also play good football.

I think it was a year to the day today that Notts County had their own date with destiny at Wembley. Finished with 111 points in the National League and promoted after a penalty shoot-out which Notts brought on a sub goalie for!

Good luck to Crawley - have a great day.

Crewe did well to come back in the 2nd leg against Doncaster after losing by a couple of goals at home.
I watched the 1st leg but missed the return due to it clashing with Scottish Football.
That angry wee guy Chris Long, who played effectively as a striker for Motherwell for a season, is there but just back from injury.
They had a lot of injuries for the Doncaster game and I don't think many will return on Sunday so advantage Crawley.

As for Crawley, I don't know their players other than Orsi who looks a good player.
Again I missed their play off games due to watching Scottish football although I occasionally caught them during the regular season in the EFL highlights programmes. Did they put too much effort into the 2nd leg of the semi final when they were so far ahead?
If they don't get promoted yer man Liam Kelly will be able to pit himself against Dylan McGeough next season in the 4th tier.
Hopefully Scott Lindsey is desperate to reunite with McKirdy next season, whatever happens but I doubt it.

Enjoy your holiday.

Crewe beat Doncaster 2-0 away after losing 2-0 at their own place, eventually winning the penalty shootout. Doncaster had scored in their previous 20 games, guess who had them in their bet both teams tae score?:grrr:

He seems to have got off to a decent start with 3 goals in 9 games. Good on him, I liked the Welsh wizard - an honest pro.

Crawley Town 2 Crewe 0.

I couldn't get a link to work (thanks for your efforts @Bambino , much appreciated).

From the commentary and updates from mates, Crawley played fantasticially well.

The lad is highlighted in my opening post Liam Kelly got an assist on the first and scored the second.

Well done Crawley, there will be some partying in town tonight.
