Taken from the Daily Record transfer gossip feed:

Lee Johnson has taken over at Easter Road having spent time as a player on the other side of the Edinburgh divide.

And the ex-Sunderland boss has been linked with another player who spent time at Tynecastle.

Cole Stockton didn't exactly set the heather on fire in Gorgie but the Morecambe man is a target for the Hibs, according to The Scottish Sun.

Can’t say I remember him from his time at Hearts.

He has just finished the season with Morecambe scoring 28 goals in 44 games in League 1.

Surely he’d be coming in as a backup player because if that’s the level of signing we’re looking at, we’re not going to be challenging Hearts for 3rd or winning cups anytime soon.

Other than last season, his scoring record is very poor.

True. Hearts squad is full of top notch players , like Sibbick( Ex Barnsley). Halkett( ex Livi).Haring, (ex S.V Ried?)Kingsley( Ex Hull city).Devlin( Wellington) The great Andy Halliday( Rx Livi, huns)

The dilemma Hibs have for next season is that out two main strikers are both injured.
They are also both under contract, so won't be going anywhere.
When fully fit Doidge and Nisbet will score goals in our league if they are given decent service...Boyle provided that in the season before last.
We need a third striker in because in my opinion Elias Melkerson is not ready yet to play first team football for Hibs on a regular basis.
Stockton looks like he can score goals at a decent level. He had the same goalscoring record in League one as Ross Stewart at Sunderland who has (at long last IMO) been called up to the Scotland team.
We are going to need two strikers in this summer, and given our main two will not be moving, I would suggest Stockton and and AN Other are about as good as we are going to get. Johnson will know how good he is having managed a team that played against him last season.

You saw him play?
He played 12 games for that lot scoring zero and was fuckin rank. I distinctly remember us lot ridiculing him on here. This was at a time when their recruitment was horrendous and ours was excellent. If this is the calibre of player we are looking at then we really are in trouble. His stats apart from one season for a 28 year old are HORRENDOUS.

You didnt see him?
Their recruitment has been poor many times.
As has ours...and every other clubs.
Dont think we'll be looking at signing players from the EPL, or English championship as they're simply out of our price range wage wise, but I'm hoping LJ manages to blend the players he's signing into a team that gives 100% with the correct attitude.

Yes, seen him playing for them against us and never felt so comfortable that a Gunt wasn't going to score against us since Scott Crabbe. It's another example of what I feared when we appointed Lee Johnson. Lower league of England mediocrity. "Oh but he'll score more up there it's Scottish football and easier....". He. Didn't. And. He. Wouldn't.

You'd sign Ross Stewart, though, presumably?

The Daily Record quotes the S*n. That's cool. The fonts of all Scottish fitba knowledge. Must be right.

I can't remember the guy much at all. Did he not just get about the last ten minutes against us in one game?

Presumably not, if it's burned into your memory he's on Scott Crappe's level.

Cole the goal Stockton as he was humorously known by Hibs fans due his lack of goals was indeed rank at Hearts.

However, he was a revelation in a rank Morcambe team this season scoring all sorts of goals including lots of high quality ones. Sure I saw him score from the half way line one week. He will he a sought after player this summer.
