Apparently a horrendous and prolific pedo. Not only that but the sick bassa invite the McCann's to his local house in the immediate aftermath of Madeleine's disappearance. God knows what kind of twisted kicks he might have been deriving from that.

To think I thought he was quite a funny guy, and he was certainly a bit of a polymath. I guess it just depressingly shows these beasts aren't all just obviously socially dysfunctional mouth breathers. I don't expect legalisation of abuse of small kids but would be surprised if age of consent doesn't come under severe pressure in the name of 'young adults right to their sexuality'. Once that is accepted it becomes salami slicing. We'll see - the thing is that some people just have to push these things; as the good causes get used up it doesn't quell the instinct and ever more obscure flags will be rallied to. That and a large number of people have simply gone nuts through bonkers ideology.

salami slicing is not secreting the saveloy or veiling the wurst, but implementing change in little increments so that no one really notices along the way. See also; boiling a frog.

The age of consent has been changing in this country for all of time.

The age ranges between 12 and 19 around the world and in some countries different areas have different ages. Being a certain age perhaps isn't the best measure.

I think it would be more surprising if it didn't change.

I'd like to see the grey areas in our laws cleared up particularly those around young people on young people. That might actually lower the age of consent but wouldn't be an open door for pervs.

Clement Freud always gave me the creeps.

For what it's worth, I think Cliff could be innocent. I think the only thing he's guilty of is being gay and coming from a time when you could be jailed for your sexuality and also coming from a time when it would have damaged his career to come out.

I think he's been unfortunate to have been associated with that Elm hotel when it's gay patrons' activities were highjacked by abject pedarists and malevolent paedos.

I think he could easily have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

But, he could also be a total nonce.
