Class war attack hipsters for gentrifying shore ditch - no wonder the left is disintegrating, when you've basically got one lot of bourgeois lefties getting attacked for gentrification by a group who will have as little in common with the east London working class as they do.

We won't see much of class war when people's communities are dissolved by other kinds of demographic shift. (Unless, quelle surprise, it's 'Israeli scumbag property developers').

That said its hard to be completely unsympathetic to this £5 bowl of cereal lark coming a cropper. Let's hope Henrylb got out unscathed :coffee:

Didnt have a clue what this thread was about...Egybees big words getting lost on me again...so I looked at the link and still was a bit dumbfounded...I'm assuming it is the breakfast equivelent of Boda's or victorias on Leith Walk...wonder if I could make a bob or two offering porridge to the natives around Leith

The cereal cafe is a standing joke but if you're the kind of person who thinks attacking that is an assault on the powers that be then you're an idiot and a coward to boot. I expect they picked it because it's run by soft twats.

And anyway complaining about gentrification in Shoreditch is like suddenly deciding that too many doctors live in Morningside. You're a bit behind the curve.

it looks like you're comparing the Israeli settlements in the west bank etc to the hipster takeover of shoreditch !? that being the case any point to this thread is surely insignificant to that extremist bawbaggery :popcorn3:

Note that the Russians are merely oligarchs, the Saudis just sheiks, but the Israelis? Obviously scumbags.

to be clear I agree wit you = not good - however from your earlier thought they were equating themselves to the palestinian refugees, victims of Israeli settlements - which really would be incredibly crass rather than just a bit racist

I think it's interesting that you think that would be worse. Anyway I'm glad you are calling them on it - your words are rather gentle compared to how I think you'd describe the BNP or NF but I appreciate that you've taken the stand.

not worse just a spectacularly bad analogy - tbh i just havent read that much about it, they sound like a bunch of bellends with a possible point thats being missed behind the pigs heads, racism and frightening kids?

They appear to be very confused toffs who seem to believe that salt-of-the-earth-eastenders have been driven out by hipsters, jooos and a Jack the Ripper museum, as opposed to, say, massive levels of Asian immigration. You can think the latter is for good or for ill or just the way things are, but whichever it may be it makes the rest of their act especially ridiculous, and highlight their own acceptably middle class racism.
 
It was me that done it ok? I was incensed that, for all their claims to be a purveyor of fine cereals to the fabulous folk of the ditch, they don't actually serve Bran Buds! Well, I just lost it there and then and raised a hue and cry. In my defence, I'm currently stricken with a shocking case of the old Emma Freuds due to drinking too many lattes and needed something to loosen up the old plumbing before I was reduced to resorting to a stick of celery.

Do F*** Parade know there are cafes up and down the country charging as much as £1.50 for a cup of tea? Tea bags are pennies and water is practically free. Charging for TEA when people are starving - the chancing bastards!

I've been working in London recently and the hipsters seem to have buried the poles wherever the poles buried the young Aussies.
