Clancy at St Johnstone.

Would much rather have had him play RB instead of Forster or CB instead of Hanlon or Nelson.

As mentioned, his chocolate legs have been a bit of an issue but could we have done any worse??

I don't know.

He was busted so much at Easter Road, it's impossible to judge him fairly. That said, his performance against Falkirk in the Scottish Cup semi-final last year was easily the most abject I've ever seen from a fullback... And I've been watching since Tortolano.

Just bring in an entirely new back four. Seriously, just bring in an entirely new team. No more half measures.

I was bemused that Hibs let him go when he had at last found some fitness.
We were struggling at RB, and had a decent option with Tim Clancy yet we let him go.

Yeah, tbh i`m surprised as well Doc. Despite that 'performance' against Falkirk, where he clearly wasn`t fully fit, he seemed to have worked his way back to fitness. I would have liked to have at least seen him get a chance at RB before the end of the season.

I remember a half dozen game's when he was fit for all the wrong reasons.

Yeah, i wouldnae argue with ye mate. He was generally awful but i`m not sure he was ever fit, even when we bought him...:g:

I never saw the reason for the stick dished out to Clancy.
But then again I liked Whitty at RB.

SlovSam wrote a decent piece on how Hibs fans have slaughtered defenders over a period of years, and not really appreciated when we had a decent player. Maybe I'm just easy pleased, but Tim Clancy would without doubt improve our defence, in my opinion anyway.

:coffee:

I agree with Dr Shrink, I think he improved our defence when he played.
He couldn't last longer than 50 minutes, but he was still better than many have been in a position we can't seem to fill.

He was poor in the semi-final, against Falkirk, though he should have been given a penalty earlier in the game.
He'll no doubt be a first team player and solve their defensive issues, cementing their place in the top-six (not that it's in any doubt now).

I wasn't a Clancy fan, maybe down to the fact he's not built to be a fullback, would maybe have liked to see him at CB, best position to utilize his assets.

But because I only know him as a fullback he wasn't good enough. Maybury was better than him when Maybury was being slaughtered.

He will probably be amazing, everyone seems to get the best out of Hibs players, except Hibs

Just been discussing this strange phenomenom this morning, the list of players is alarming! What the hell do we do to these guys?
