bust up between alistair campbell and adam boulton. live on sky

Classic ding dong. Campbell really is a nutter. Questionable mental states have been right at the heart of 'the project' from the get go.

Whoever takes power, even if a millibland ends up running a coalition, it will be an almost unbelievable relief to see the back of half mad bullies like Brown, Mandy and Campbell, and the complete mockery of democracy they have made, with people like the latter two running the show to a large extent.

i actualy watched it live and it was great to see them getting stuck in. it was a right eye opener to how much spin AC makes out on the questions asked. i thought he AB was going to punch him lol.

further link also has this and previous encounters

Almost as explosive as Gordon Brown's resignation announcement this afternoon was the incredible on-air bust-up between Sky News political editor Adam Boulton and Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell that followed.

The pair almost came to blows during a live interview discussing Brown's decision, with veteran anchor Jeremy Thompson forced to step in to break up the duelling duo.

Tensions between the pair appear to have been simmering for some time, with the pair going toe to toe on Sky's election night coverage. Things start getting heated at around 2.30 minutes into the clip below.

It is by no means the first time Boulton has lost his rag with an interviewee.

Clearly "fed up", here we see Adam lose patience with Labour MP Shaun Woodward in an interview following James Purnell's resignation from the party last year.

Thanks! Really enjoyed that!

Boulton really lost his cool. Despite Campbell's slippery maneuvering, Boulton looked like a tool IMO.

Campbell hit the KO with the "Adam....You're obviously upset David Cameron isn't PM". Talk about waving a red flag at a bull:giggle:

that was great tv.....sure i read last year that Boulton was a personal friend of Blair.

Surprise surprise i like Campbell. Despised by the Tories and their massive media backers because he's Labour through and through. Also because he's actually quite good at what he does. Adam Boulton has been desparate - and i speak as one who watches a lot of him on SKY - to see Labour out. Lot of historical personality issues...

That was awesome, i love the way Campbell works he properly pressed the other guys buttons and i don't really think he said much wrong? It was funny.

Historical personality issues? Same with the rest of Sky News? And The Sun? And The Times? And The News Of The World? And The Sunday Times? Ain't that a bit of a coincidence that every single media outlet owned by one person who was desperate to get the tories in so that their pet party would legislate so that they didn't have to compete with a publically funded news organisation all had historical personality issues. Amazing.

Next we'll be getting told that Vader Jr went to a newspaper with his henchwoman to threaten the editor of a newspaper they have fuck all to do with to stop criticising poor defenceless pappy.

I couldn't really give much of a toss who won the election, but I'm genuinely delighted that the myth of Murdoch and his ability to win you an election is now well and truly fucked. Perhaps now the papers owned by him can be treated with the contempt they so utterly deserve rather than be pandered to. If that's the one thing that comes out of this election then it's been well worth it.

Al, whatever you think of the Murdoch stable, it's rather breathtaking to be charging them with anti competitiveness vis a vis the BBC.

you thought it was campbell that came across as the nutter? Boulton was out of his depth, Campbell pushed buttons but was imo accurate with what he said - the tories (in general) are really beginning to show just how desperate for power (not that labour arent - they're just not squealing abut it as much)

I'm not one for getting involved in political debates but those two should have taken that argument offline and settled things with a game of knob the biscuit.

That would show who the daddy is.

different things R; I agree Campbell 'won' the argument by getting Boulton (who I don't know anything about - not a Sky watcher) flustered. But I don't think incompetence or losing composure are what makes a nutter. But Campbell's messianic certainty - even now - and his effortless attempts to manipulate others and create a reality that's not real are - while hardly unique in politics - viewed within the context of all that's gone before, and the extremes to which he and the nulab inner circle have taken all this, to me evidence of nutterdom - not nutterdom in the sense of barking at the moon, but nutterdom in the kool-aid drinking sense; absolutely insular fanatics, going down with the ship.

what reality that isnt real? - i dont get why people think that lab/lib coalition is any less valid than any other option currently on the table....have to say i am appreciating Campbell's stuff at the moment because it is so against the grain of the rush to crown king david that is so pervasive on bbc/sky etc - its win win as far as I am concerned as i think in the short terma lib/lab would be better for us here and deliver a slightly more progressive govt, while getting everyone so pissed off that we'll have a much greater appetite for political reform to boot.

Campbell played Boulton beautifully there. Boulton totally lost his professionalism and came across as a tool.
I loved AC's tweet later on

"Really worried about Adam Boulton. Wonder if he might need some of my pills?"
