Went to see Brighton v Everton some weeks back.
Eyes just stopped bleeding a few days ago.
Certainly hope you see a better game than I did.
I'm a bit torn about going to Brighton. It is a decent stadium and they do try to play decent football. But it just doesn't feel like "going to the football" for me.
The whole Park and Ride thing is a nightmare Did you have to endure that? Last night it took an hour after i parked to get into the Stadium. 15 Mins queuing to get on a bus, then 45 mins on the bus. Normally the bus ride is 15-20 mins.
We always end up leaving the game early (which i hate to do and have never done at Hibs games) to get back on the bus. If you don't leave before the end you end up waiting about 30-40 mins for a bus.
There option of the train is just as bad after the match but the biggest irritation for me is that because of the location of the ground there are no pubs or eating places with in an easy walk of the stadium.
To their credit they do have a quaint little song called "Good Old Sussex by the Sea" which inspires images of Victorian ladies and gentlemen in the long legged and long armed hooped bathing costumes! Behave
@Doc Shrink . It's no a patch on Sunshine on Leith though.
It's all a bit too sanitised for me. Add in the 500-1000 Japanese tourists who spend a fortune and are only there to see Mitoma (fantastic player) and it's just a bit meh!
I enjoy the afternoon/evening out with either Father-in-law or Brother-in-Law depending one which one can't make it!!
I also have great admiration for Brighton as a club and there supporters. In the time i have lived down south they have been to hell and back. Playing lower division football and leading a Nomadic life style following their club after the Goldstone closed in 1997. They played at Gillingham for 2 years (a round trip of 150 miles). Then at the Withdean Stadium for 12 years (similar to playing at Edinburgh City Stadium but worse).
As a club they are run extremely well. They continually find unknown players who they sell on for huge sums but still compete and I can't remember the last time they sacked a manager. When one leaves they always seem to have the next one in mind who fits their DNA.
Lots to like and admire but it's just no Hibs!
