Off to see this with my father-in-law tonight as brother-in-law is not able to go.

I'm pretty sure it will be a very good game as both teams play attractive football.

However it will come nowhere near the rush I had on Saturday at ER. What a match, what drama and Sunshine on Leith at the end!

Went to see Brighton v Everton some weeks back.
Eyes just stopped bleeding a few days ago.

Certainly hope you see a better game than I did.

It's like one of these pointless games.
2 teams that have never won anything, never will win anything....but pretend they are big clubs. 🙄

Don't you just love the EPL Gravy Train.

It was a very enjoyable watch. Bourenmouth started the brighter side but went behind to a penalty.

It was a case of you attack then we'll attack.

Bourenmouth equalised and looked the more likely winners but Danny Welbeck came off the bench and struck the winner

There were about 6 VAR checks which were all done within 10 seconds

Only disappointment was Ryan Christie going off on 25 minutes with what looked like a groin injury.

I'm a bit torn about going to Brighton. It is a decent stadium and they do try to play decent football. But it just doesn't feel like "going to the football" for me.

The whole Park and Ride thing is a nightmare Did you have to endure that? Last night it took an hour after i parked to get into the Stadium. 15 Mins queuing to get on a bus, then 45 mins on the bus. Normally the bus ride is 15-20 mins.

We always end up leaving the game early (which i hate to do and have never done at Hibs games) to get back on the bus. If you don't leave before the end you end up waiting about 30-40 mins for a bus.

There option of the train is just as bad after the match but the biggest irritation for me is that because of the location of the ground there are no pubs or eating places with in an easy walk of the stadium.

To their credit they do have a quaint little song called "Good Old Sussex by the Sea" which inspires images of Victorian ladies and gentlemen in the long legged and long armed hooped bathing costumes! Behave @Doc Shrink . It's no a patch on Sunshine on Leith though.

It's all a bit too sanitised for me. Add in the 500-1000 Japanese tourists who spend a fortune and are only there to see Mitoma (fantastic player) and it's just a bit meh!

I enjoy the afternoon/evening out with either Father-in-law or Brother-in-Law depending one which one can't make it!!

I also have great admiration for Brighton as a club and there supporters. In the time i have lived down south they have been to hell and back. Playing lower division football and leading a Nomadic life style following their club after the Goldstone closed in 1997. They played at Gillingham for 2 years (a round trip of 150 miles). Then at the Withdean Stadium for 12 years (similar to playing at Edinburgh City Stadium but worse).

As a club they are run extremely well. They continually find unknown players who they sell on for huge sums but still compete and I can't remember the last time they sacked a manager. When one leaves they always seem to have the next one in mind who fits their DNA.

Lots to like and admire but it's just no Hibs!

There's a bunch of us have travelled down to a couple of games there.
The train direct to the ground is fab, and we are early because we've booked the full hospitality gig and need to maximise quaffing time!
There's a few drinks available AFTER the game too (very generous with the drink although queerly "Can I get a double vodka?" No, I'm sorry we can't serve doubles. "OK, can I have two vodkas?" No problem sir.)
So the trains are manageable on the way back too as we are last to roll out.
Then it's off to Pop World and other establishments where tables have been booked and beer and spirits are waiting on the table.

So, train to Stadium doors, unlimited drink, train back, clubbing (no seals were involved) and back to hotel. Next day watch Super Sunday in pub before flight back to Edinburgh at teatime.

You're right. It's just no Hibs.

Only the shit game spoiled it!
