West of Scotland Branch News
the branch will be holding their 2nd AGM on the 26th january in MCONNELLS in HOPE ST. GLASGOW. doors will open at 7pm and the meeting will begin at 7.30 pm. all welcome.
in march, the branch were invited to belfast as guests of the northern ireland branch and a number of members attended a very successful night in raising funds for the HFPA.
on 27th august, the branch held their very first player of the year dance (2004/05) in which garry o'connor was nominated. unfortunately, garry was unable to attend, so the branch presented him with the award on 17th december prior to the motherwell game. the branch also held a raffle for the joe baker memorial fund (thanks for all the donated prizes) where over 200 was raised. the branch would like to thank special guests tony higgins, paul kane and joe baker's wife sonia, for attending the evening.
a special thanks also goes to all the hibbies from edinburgh that stayed over after the game to help make it a memorable night.
the branch recently organised 'a night at the dogs' where a number of members attended shawfield where a good night was had by all. some more than others.
a special thank you goes to bill campbell for the thankless task of organising transport to away games.
we hope to continue in the next year with a growing social calendar and possibly organise more buses/ transport for away games.
a special 'get well soon' mention goes to bill laing. get well soon bill, hope to see you back giving your 'opinions' very soon.
the branch numbers have continued to grow since that 1st meeting way back in april 2004.
