Boyle

Just something i heard, but it may actually be nothing of importance, not exactly sure at all.
Hopefully good news 👀
Or just a typical “cheery” non story pile of pish 🫣

If hes looking for 3yr, we should go in and give him an extension to his triggered year. 2years on a healthy wedge, and still young enough to tear it up for a couple more years in oz land

Surely even if he is offered reduced terms at Hibs it’ll be far more than anything he can earn in the A League.
Why would he offer him reduced terms? He has been in good form. Plus a club legend. I expect the club to give him a good deal as I'm sure they did with any other past cup winners.

He got a bumper deal after returning from Saudi.
Much more than any of the other cup winners were earning.

Turns 32 tomorrow and by all accounts is on an absolute fortune in wages.

Personally I'm not sure I'd offer him reduced terms. He's been brilliant overall, different maybe if he'd been underperforming. We rely on him so much - he has contributed with goals and assists. Maybe offer a similar deal to Sir David and McGregor.

As part of our cup winning team I expect Boyle to get a testimonial as well. He's almost at the 10 year mark anyway.

I agree with you.
In fact, because of how well Boyle has been playing and contributing to the team's improvement, if I were on the Board I would be saying to the other Board members, "Martin, tell us what you want, son - and you've got it for the next 3 years!" And then I would be saying the exact same thing to the Board about Rocky.

Martin has been instrumental in the turn around with his goals, assists and captaincy , love the guy and hope tae feck he stays with a new deal . I’d imagine he is a big plus in the dressing room as well 🙏

Martin was shown this video of Nijinsky or Flyer ,as the players called him in full flow against them
Some forward lie that day with Duncan including the Baker Boy on his return. and Jimmy O' enjoying the mud.

Hammi said what I was going to say.

I think the deal on his return was so massive it probably still makes him a considerable outlier in Hibs wage structure.

I'm not saying he's not worth it but it might be the point Hibs think for the wage he's on they could get better and a reduced wage would be more appropriate for where he is in the Hibs scheme of things.

I doubt a reduced contract will be cheap either I suspect it would still keep him as a top earner.

All big IFS. Only he and Hibs know what's going on.

Always tricky to tell recycled gossip from paper talk from something that ever got confirmed.

But assuming the collective understanding of his post-Saudi deal is right, I reckon we could offer him reduced terms that would not only keep him as a top earner but would also be the best deal he'd get.

He's had a great season all told, but he looked absolutely finished six months ago; given he's into the twilight years for a pacy forward, a lot of clubs won't rush to offer him a multi-year deal and there's not that much money in the A-League.

The years extension becoming public knowledge will put to bed any reduced terms.
And I've decided I wouldn't grudge him it.

It can serve as a lesson to everyone trying to do anything at this club. The potential to earn is there... Just gotta have a Martin Boyle Hibs career to do so. Million quid years loan to an oil rich league included.

He’s actually not been mentioned much for POTY award, don’t rule that out . The turnaround engineered by SDG had a fair bit of MB involvement considering his turnaround also 🤔

Seen loads of rumours saying new deal signed. Unfortunately they’re from the shitiest of sources (Facebook, TikTok etc)!
