Tel 661 1875 as there's plenty bottle merchants there who could clarify.

See what I did there?

Poor I agree

It's not that bad. Don't put yourself down. Get a vet. They know what they're doing :yas:
The old ones are the best.

Actually it's not bad :giggle:

Is that where the song "Ten Green Bottlers" comes from :dunno:

I know for beer the color of the bottle has to do with how much light gets let in which can affect the flavor of the beer. Some beers that are in clear bottles can let in too much light if exposed to the sun for too long and give the beer an off flavor. The green and brown bottles filter that light out and therefore the beers flavor isn't affected.

yep, but I think you missed the point :burnout: why do they ask us to put these different coloured bottles in seperate units...then seemingly mix them in the same lorry rendering our part useless and the need for various coloured skips pointless.

I think it may depend upon where the glass is destined. The separation is important for recycling to more glass bottles for instance, but in cases where the glass is to be recycled into other end products it can be mixed. I'm sure that I read that a fair amount is used to form materials for road surfacing, which surprised me a little.
More modern plants have fancy gizmos that separate the colours during the processing and that means even the new bottles can be made with mixed glass, which is automatically sorted on site.
Perhaps Edin Council has a deal with such a facility?
:dunno:

If households were provided with a separate 'bin' for glass, I think that would be hugely effective in collecting more recyclable material.
In fact, I reckon a separate skip may be more appropriate for me rather than a bin.
:lookaround:

dunno bout edinburgh but in east lothian the glass lorry has 3 compartments so that the glass is seperate in the lorry, but it can be mixed into one and recycled but it costs more and is a lot more work
