Aww superb actor, and the Long Good Friday was a fine movie.

A fine actor who made some great films...anybody of a certain age on here remember him in a TV programme called On the Move many years ago ?...it was about dyslexic adults learning how to read.

certainly do mind said programme GM . Bloody long time ago mate .

Sad news. A really fine actor.

I remember him best as Cathy Tysons driver in 'Mona Lisa'. He was superb in that.

R.I.P. Bob

I always loved his headbutt on the guy twice his size at 4.05..

And at the other end of the film, this - surely, the finest moment of the finest moment. Master class in acting:

Yip. I actually went to the end bit when Bomber first posted his link. It always stuck with me how a face can express so much without needing words. And what a face it was.Though I'm glad he did talk cos of his epic put-downs such as "The Mafia? I've shit 'em" and "The only decent grass is the grass who grasses to me!"

What a great film. I think I'll watch it again.

I've long not been able to say 'Bob Hoskins' without saying it in a er Bob Hoskins voice, if you know what I mean.

Good, on-the-ground bloke. Very good actor indeed. Rest in Peace, Bob.

I liked him in this little local (to me) Shane Meadows film.
