I used to think there were parallels with the Hibs support and the Scottish national team support.

Both had a bad rep back in the day but had turned that round and while not quite at the 'celebrity' status of the Tartan Army Hibs were welcomed.

Fuck! Now we canny get as far as Perth or Dundee but the police are out in force making multiple arrests for violence not to mention the graffiti and vandalism that have become prevalent.

Blocked 7 can do one as far as I'm concerned.

The "main guy?"

Is that the "capo" who doesn't watch much of the game, scolds nearby fans for not doing the big clapping actions, and sets off a siren at random moments?
 
I've never minded the drum or the megaphone or the siren, but the insistence on their ain songs has always annoyed me. If you're going to force a monopoly on singing it shouldn't be exclusionary.

There's also the dickheads on tour issue, but young guys and cheap ching are always a shite combination and this is just one of many iterations of that

My nephew is feared of them because of being absolute bawbags to my sister and him. He's fuckin 7 year old!

Won't go into the north anymore, which is fine cause he gets to come over with us.
But he wanted to be near the noise, 1 game, never again.

Arseholes tbh. Sure it's no everyone, but it's enough of them that they can be lumped together

Yes, he looked as hard as nails and had the whole section building up to a crescendo and then quiet again. 200 of their Ultras were locked up before the game and they were the best support I have ever seen. Staunch. Italian football and indeed French Ultras are brilliant. OGC NIce have around 4000-5000 Ultras filling one end, utter chaos but brilliant to see and hear. Shame we can't replicate as we only have 40/50.

I started off in the cow shed behind the goals, been through the East when it was good, and in my old age sit in the West. We were all just Hibs fans. All supporting the same team in the same way. There was always someone who would shout the first line of a song and then the whole stand joined in. Then there was the spontaneous songs, started by someone with a bit of patter (the one that springs to mind was Stevie Fulton getting booked for being ugly 😀). We didn’t need some arsehole with a megaphone to get us singing and we didn’t need a fud with a drum to keep time. We need to show these laddies on Saturday that we can create an atmosphere at ER without them. In saying that, we need to see some decent action on the pitch to stir us up.

A bit different then.
“Our” capo looks a bit dim, and I have never heard Hibs fans described as “staunch”.
I’ll be checking for brown brogues next time I see Block7.

Did the genuine Ultras have some dafty sounding off a siren for no reason?

That kind of behaviour is not on at all and should be stomped down on hard.

It sounds like B7 are suffering from delusions that they are the "real" fans and unable to behave. If that had happened to my kids I probably wouldn't have been back.

Yeah I am so "weak" that I won't take kids into a nasty atmosphere where they get verbal abuse and make them scared.

The Ultras are a menace IMO and just a newer iteration of the neds that football worked hard since the 80s to get under control and make going to a game something that wouldn't land you in hospital.

Luckily he knows it's just that one area, he loves going so it's no put him off the football. He's fine with the odd bam shouting nonsense around him, but the pair of them had like 6 or 7 folk constantly turning around and shouting about him being in a seat, or no singing etc.

And that's no isolated, there's plenty stories from all over with them acting like the own the place.
Taking other people's seats, getting punched for trying to get their own seat.

I'm all for a group trying to generate the noise, but if you're acting like that you can go fuck yourself head first into a wall as far as I'm concerned.
 
"The Professor" has been watching to many Utube videos as he said today in his presser that he had knew all about the home atmosphere and was buzzing for the game.😱.

Man, is he in for a shock though strangely enough one of the best atmospheres ever at ER was for a Falkirk game with Alan Freeland the referee and Yogi the Falkirk manager and a routine match that turned totally bonkers and became manically out of control.🤣

It's not going to happen tomorrow though as the old North Stand boys are all deid, the East has gone and the old East regulars that decamped upstairs are much less vocal and now that the mostly likeable wee bams have overstepped the mark and upset the "Laddie" all we are left with is the high pitched Hibs kids on a day oot.🤧

Flip knows what the Prof is going to be thinking at kick off time but the crowd atmosphere wont be helping him that's for sure unless Matty Jack is the prematch guest as he knows how to create an atmosphere from nought.😄

Start the game well though, be positive and crucially score first and look refreshing and a little different and who knows.🙏🙏.
