Big Gold Dream documentary

I think I saw the fire engines in Bar Napoli last year after this this was shown in Edinburgh. Have to say I prefer the weegie contribution - orange juice streets ahead of the others imho

not an expert on the period but the weedgie contribution was a bit more effete was it not, not necessarily a bad thing.

watched documentary tonight it was very good, lots of well kent faces from Edinburgh featured, Rusty and Tam Dean Burn of the Dirty Reds / Fire Engines / Clerie Jungle, Malcolm Ross, Ian Stoddart, my old neighbours the Twinsets, Innes Reekie, Paul Reekie etc..a few Hibbies in that list.

the boy who ran Fast Product records came across as a bit of a dick.

Thought it was great.I was a friend of Paul Reekie,I'm also a friend of Coco Whitson who now plays bass for boots for dancing.I was up that flat that was mentioned in Keir St.The famous picture of punks outside bruces record shop has another friend in it John Carmichael, who was in the Blood Uncles.I was up the Nite Club sitting to talk to the woman out the Flowers whose name I've forgotten ,who sits down beside us?Bob Last and Phil Oakey.I aslso saw the Visitors, Orange Juice and a band called TV Art play up the Netherbrow Art Center.I later saw TV Art supporting Adam and the Ants at Valentinos only they had changed there names to Josef K.Speaking of Josef K,there is talk of Strawberry Switchblade etc colouring in their single with felt pen.My elder brother was one of the people who did the colouring in.So great to watch for me as it was very close to home.

I'm watching it now. My goodness. This is terrible. I've been to many parties with many people like this.

Embra you are bottom of the league for self absorbed dickheads with shite anecdotes.

Best thing about it? The old scenes of Embra.

Gang of 4 popped up on my Spotify radar this week.... I liked it. but now I know why it popped up. Punk fuck off!

My only real complaint? There was no mention of the Valves, the Visitors, the Ettes were only mentioned in passing and the same could be said of The Delmontes and no mention of So You Think You're A Cowboy? Apart from that it was great.

Billy Sloan's leather jaiket was a shocker, I hate all coats with those shoulder straps, epaulets i think they are called, nearly as bad as coats or jackets which have belts..
