Does anyone have one or have come across this fine British institution? I'm considering investing in a jacket as I like the some of the styles - they look like Barbour with a twist, often a belt. I can't see anything on the website about sizing either which may prove to be slightly problematic. If anyone has any knowledge about these matters it would be appreciated. Cheers.

Swithered about getting one recently...that or the James Bond Barbour which is rather smart. Was put off by the price of both.

Aye they are fairly pricey but I've found with paying a but more they wear a bit longer and the quality is generally excellent, as I'm sure you already know!!

Not that i'm a fan off Belstaff, but i totally get your concept of paying for what you get when buying clothes.

In the main, i always try and buy the best quality of what i can afford at the time of purchase regardless of the garment.

I've had one for several years - expensive to be sure but I think it will outlast me. Mine was hard to track down as it was before they became fashionable - but assuming you are Edinburgh based they are in Harvey Nichols now so you can go an try on.

Btw they're made in Italy now - if you want British go Barbour

With some things price does mean quality and importantly can also mean timeless style.

I bought my Belstaff from Harvey Nichols when it opened back in 2002. Yes it was pricey but 11 years on all the stitching is still in-tack despite being worn over 1,000 times in a vast array of climates and situations. Mine is the classic style but they now do an amazing variety of styles and some very sexy looking ones for the laydeez.

Aye some of them are really nice, a bit different and I do think they would last the test of time. I've a couple of jackets from Osti and you couldn't tell they were over 15 years old! In fact I was looking at the new Stone Island stuff and I see they are bringing back the Marina range that was one of their first releases.
