I remember being taken to see Bedknobs and Broomsticks as a wee bairn...great film !
She was indeed a fine actress and had a good innings.

Quite memorable in many ways.Not least the camio appearance of Bruce Forsythe as 'dodgy bookseller'.Angela Lansbury was a fine actress and one of the last of the Golden Era.

What I didn't realise and have only found out by reading wiki, she is amongst the family of quite a few famous people amongst them are the famous Labour MP George Lansbury her grandfather,Oliver Postgate her cousin and Peter Ustinov her brother in law.

I never really took to her or the stuff she was in and particularly didn't like her in a film as Miss Marple, I remember, spoiled as we were with the excellent and expressive Geraldine McEwan in the tv role at one point..
But I freely admit to not knowing much of her earlier work and she must have been good to get all the awards she got, so RIP Dame Ange.
