Aberdeen

3-0 to the Saintees, big fine on the Sheepies, and hopefully players get maximum fine from their club.
I agree.

We're in new territory here and making up the rules as we go along. By the time the SPFL issued the fine, the sheep went to court and then on to arbitration and fuck knows what else we could be on to Covid-22.

If nothing else this just shows how bad the professionalism levels are, and how the bevy culture still exists, in Scottish football.
I might agree if we were seeing other Scottish clubs in the same position.

The fact we're not perhaps shows Scottish football has mostly moved on but a shocking lack of discipline at one club.

I'm reading elsewhere that five Hibs players went up town together last Saturday. Not going to jump to conclusions based on rumour but I will say that, hypothetically, if Hibs ended up in the same situation that Aberdeen have Ms Dempster would be receiving a strongly worded missive from me. No danger am I shelling out for a season ticket, at a time when I was losing my job and expecting not to even be able to use it this season, only for the players whose wages I was paying to help protect deciding to throw it back in my face for the sake of a few pints.

And I think you'd have good reason.

Would there be this kind of back lash if they had gone to a restaurant together for a meal and few drinks and this had happened?

There would from me because the rules clearly state you're only allowed to meet with people from two other households. So unless there's a lot of house sharing going on between those 8 players they've broken the rules. Considering the Scottish government have made exceptions for football the least they can do is respect the rules that do apply.

They would still have been breaking Government guidelines - there should be no more than three households meeting indoors.

It would still warrant a kick up the arse. They knew the rules, and they broke them and fcuked it up for loads. Selfish bastards. If the restaurant was choc-full of teenage bevy merchants who were restaurant crawling and quite obviously sticking two fingers to the rules then it would be guaranteed the same backlash.

Government guidelines of no more than 2 households indoors goes out the window when they open pubs and restaurants IMO. Don’t get me wrong they should get hammered and have to forfeit any match they miss as in top of government guidelines there will be the SPFL protocols for the ‘bubbles’ or whatever it is they’re called that they’ve blatantly disregarded but was just a more general question of wonder if there would be the same back lash if they caught it in a restaurant instead of a bar.

I’ve not been in a pub since before lockdown and have no intention of doing so in the near future until we are more in control of the situation.
Pubs especially at night are a bit risky imo everyone knows that the more alcohol you drink the more your standards start to slip ie keeping your distance etc. I don’t drink that much now but I do like going to the pubs on match day. Feel sorry for boozers that are trying their best to operate safely and responsibly to keep their pubs going and keep their staff employed.
Can somebody explain to me what these players did wrong, are they not allowed to go to pubs or was it because they were drunk or were they on a pub crawl? I’m not defending them at all I don’t think Nicola would be going her dinger if they were doing nothing wrong but is it the footballer role model thing or did Aberdeen barr them from frequenting bars?
Can somebody throw a bit of light on the situation.

You're only allowed to meet with a maximum of two other households.

I think that’s down to dumb luck more than anything - a number of Hibs players had posts on Instagram being out and about on Saturday night... pretty sure that was the norm across the board.

Back to the players. Why can't the 6 players who are self isolating just get tested?

Negative tests aren't reliable. Even four days after infection you'll still get a negative result 60% of the time despite being infected with the virus. That's why contacts of positive cases need to isolate for 14 days whether they have symptoms or not. I believe some countries are considering doing a test on day 5 and if it comes back negative you can be released from isolation. We're not though.

Fair enough, but what I don't understand then is this.
When the Hibs players and coaching staff for example are all tested twice a week including two days before match and all test negative, are you saying that is not a reliable result ? Why are we allowed to play then ?

It's because if you're a close contact of someone who's positive then there's a reasonable chance you've got it. Hibs players are being tested as a matter of routine, not because there's reason to suspect they've got the virus. Those six players are close contacts of people who have tested positive, hence there's grounds to suspect they may be positive. It's the exact same way test and protect works for everyone else in the country, with the exception that Joe public isn't being tested twice a week as a matter of routine.

Is that when you hit a wee sheep off the tee on one of the dodgy holes at Fairmileheed?

Funnily enough I’m taking up the clubs again.
Aye, these baby seals are getting right on my tits.

Kidding.

I’m of ”that age” when ...... some call it retirement, others.... getting binned.

I was never good at the game as @Dub will testify ( you should see how bad that fucker putts when you send your electric trolley cruising over the green when he’s lining up a two footer) but God/spirit/dodgy back and arthritic hips willing......

All I’m saying is, if Nick Faldo, his caddy, and I manage a game then there will be three Fanny’s on the one hole.

Anyone who is picturing that really needs to get a grip.

No. Not a grip of that.

I love a lamb shank.

:lookaround:

The "What type of mint sauce" debate could be the new flag debate.

Or should Hibs play in a mintier, fresher green? Maybe during Freshers Week. Remember that? Those sepia photos you still cherish ?

I love the Bounce.
Where 70’s humour still survives, and isn’t deemed some sort of deviant behaviour.
Despite what that fuckin judge said to me at sentencing.

”Weird behaviour that defies understanding”

Oh fucking really. With a worse wig than Brandon Barker and Donald Trump getting their heads together?
And you think MY humour stinks.

To be fair deviant behaviour isn't even deemed deviant behaviour on here so I think 70s humour is safe.

Ps any pics?

N here was me thinking that spliff expanded the imagination... seems it's passé fir the red wine bourgeoisie?

8 of them!? Should get a match ban each once they're cleared to play, hey know they're expected to maintain a higher standard just now.

Players all named Dylan in that number all of them are senior players no laddies in there

Bruce Anderson, Craig Bryson, Sam Cosgrove, Michael Devlin, Jonny Hayes, Matthew Kennedy, Dylan McGeouch and Scott McKenna are the players named

That’s not a massive deal for Dylan as he’s a benchwarmer up there and McInnes another one who doesn’t rate him as highly as Hibs Internet.

Players that should know better, their Director was furious but McInness not really ?

My worry on this is the Sheep seem to be getting off lightly, any team that gets hit next will have a ton of bricks thrown at them. Why are the Sheep not getting blootered at the moment to make anything in the future the same?

Don’t worry.
Precedent has been set.

Agree with you mate, they should be punished.
