Full Time: Aberdeen 0 v Hibs 4

"Things are only impossible until they're not."

Jean-Luc Picard

Hibs head to Pittodrie on Saturday for the tea time telly kick off against Aberdeen. The mood has shifted significantly since last Sunday, after a quite stunning result and performance.

I was pitch level, so I didn't get a good view of the formation tweaks and tactical changes. Can't say I was even sure the goals went in at the time, and that was before the painful wait to see if VAR would allow them. They counted though, and we're through to the league cup final for the first time since 2021 when we nearly surprised Celtic. Before then we have a number of important games, and it would be great if we can get some points together.

Aberdeen are coming off a bit of a downer, they held Rangers up until the final moments of their semi final. They're not having a good league campaign and sit 3 points above Hibs. A two goal Hibs win would take us above them. Having changed manager this year, they are in a bit of a quandary, you can't just keep firing managers and hope for someone to get it right.

Their best performers this season have curiously been Chris Cadden, although he missed last week and another ex-hibby Kevin Nisbet. Nisbet has chalked up 13 goals and 4 assists in 18 games this season his best return for quite some time. For contrast Hibs top scorers this season are Elding and Boyle with 5 apiece.

What kind of set up can we expect from Hibs, I'd guess we'll largely be the same as the lineup for the semi final:

I say largely, because I think Marink will make a tweak or two, now he's getting to know the players and their strengths and weaknesses.

Sunday was magic, really magic. Looking forward to seeing what this Saturday brings.

That's my views, I'm more interested in hearing yours.

All i would say is a fair bit of rumour about some players not on board with the manager ( young manager , english not his first language , stripped captainacy from whoever ) .
I think we have a manager who is has tactical
Awareness , balls big enough to do what possibbly needs done - if any players not on board ( no matter who they are ) get rid of rhem
Asap .
December 13 - we win the cup .

Now get behind manager .🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💚💚

Interesting that our key moments after Jamie’s opener came from players who have been fringe this season.

Klidges goal was a cracker, we should do that more often.

Aberdeen chucked it though, it was painful to watch after we went 2 up. Surprised if their manager survives this.

I don’t know if Robinson’s tea’s oot but the kettle’s on
And to think how many Hibbies wanted him..TBH I prob would not have been against it at the time. And another reason why im not involved in football

After struggling tae score and the 2 last week being a bit lucky, it was nice tae see 4 good goals for a change.

So I heard from a very good source that Boyle was fuming about the captaincy thing. I don't doubt the person who told me at all.

The way that Boyle has been playing shows me how professional is actually is. Thought he's been superb the past few games. Long may it may continue. We look like a different side.

In Marink we trust.

What a great reward for the Hibbees who travelled North to see the cabbage……..long, long overdue.
