Friend of a friend (female) long-standing church member and active fundraiser etc, married for almost 50 years, applied to become an elder of her church. Letter of objection submitted by a twice-married man stating that she would not be suitable as an elder due to her husband “going to watch Rangers every week and drinking”. Application rejected. WTF?

My impression from perusing followfollow back in the day is that the Huns don’t like Protestants much, or at least the CoS. As far as I could gather this seemed to be because the CoS spends far too much time focussed on this Christianity business and not enough on hating feenyins.

Perhaps this is now being reciprocated ?

Do they have any children and who old are they? Fornication could be on the charge sheet as well 😆

And what about witchcraft?

Is this the RC church? I recall going out with a young nurse who wouldn't introduce me to her church going family because I was divorced from wife 1 at the time. They were on the verge of disowning her! When she told them my first marriage was in the Church of Scotland that was OK because they didn't recognise that as being a proper marriage! 😆

He might only have one recognised marriage!

After that explanation I chose not to meet them.
