Hibs beat Hertz 6-2, and I wasnae there. I was at an all Scottish meeting of the SWP where were given the argument by Chris Bambery that we should join the SSP.So after the meeting we repaired to the Southsider where I found out the score.Never been so pissed off that I never went to a game.

It should have been 6-1. Colin Cameron made a two footed tackle or lunge to win the ball before he scored.
Mixu scored four, it was disallowed for a foul on elvis, maybe even 7-1.

Either way what a fucking night it was.

Thinking about it, it was probably the last time we went a goal down to them and i was not in the least concerned.

Watched the game with my uncle,

If Hibs scored he was to make a cuppa, if hearts scored we were to make a cuppa.
I had about 5 pals in, we ended up running riot while Hibs rioted his team

Must've been one of the worst nights of his life 😅

Sounds like quite a party night Hammi.

I was offshore Norway at the time - the store man on the rig was a Hearts supporter who lived in Denmark and he got a lot of strange tannoys and phone calls the next day.

Some night.
I was in the East Lower with a few of my mates.
It was bedlam in there.
We would have gubbed anyone in that second half.
Best Hibs team of my adult life without a doubt...McLeish's team between 1999 and 2001.
As was I -- plus my mate's wife, who is Finnish, her first and still her only football game ever. Absolute limbs in the east, she just looked shellshocked :grinning-smiley-045:

I always say to people that that Hibs team was the one I remember as really carrying real menace when going forward; there have been other exciting teams, but that team was also "all business", they did not fuck about.

Strange day for me.
Our family scattered the ashes of my cousin, and fellow hibs regular Colin, behind the goals at the FFS end. He'd died suddenly and tragically young of a massive heart attack a couple of weeks earlier.
I then went on the bevvy with his brother @Braehead Cabbage before we both returned to the holy ground, as usual, not expecting much.

For the first time in our lives Hibernian didn't let us down....
THE sweetest day I've ever had following the Hibees - for sure winning the Scottish Cup in the last few seconds was a better result , but this evening under the lights was 70 (😉) minutes of pure enjoyment.

Cost me 3 days off work/3 days blooterred on the sauce watching the whole Sky coverage of the game I'd taped and it was worth every moment. 💚
