YFS is a new not-for-profit social enterprise launching in November. The primary target is to provide a one stop interactive information, communication, and service resource for the players, coaches, teams, clubs and referees involved in Scottish youth football (all completely free of charge). There are three distinctive elements to our approach:
Information services
Database of clubs, facilities, pitches and kit/equipment retailers, calendar of events and advice & resources for coaches, players, goalkeepers, teams and referees. A platform for any useful information, internally or externally sourced, to be broadcast to the masses.
Dynamic content
News centre, YFS TV & Radio, picture gallery (all offering club, local, regional and national levels of coverage). Every club has a page to which they will be invited to submit their own material (subject to moderation), creating a constant conveyer belt of content.
Interactive features
Community forums for all users to engage in banter and debate; competitions; and player/coach/team recruitment services getting those who arent already playing/coaching the opportunity to see all of the teams they can potentially join (and also helping teams who dont have enough players).
Whilst you can see full information and check progress at Youth Football Scotland | Coming November 2010, the forums section are now live and the debate is set to kick off. The targets of the forums are...
- To create a scenario which allows people to discuss youth matters in their region, other regions or on a Scotland-wide scale (without having to register for more than one forum).
- To allow regional forums to grow at a rate which suits the demand, whether it's one forum for an entire region or for every league and age group. Therefore not diluting the discussion by starting off too big.
- To create players forums, allowing young players to talk without worrying about crowded out by adults.
- To create coaches and team secretaries forums, allowing for the sharing of information between likeminded people and discussion of what is good practice.
- To provide a direct link between news stories, match reports, interviews, features & other media on the youth game and the place where you discuss them.
- To provide twenty-four hour moderation, alongside existing swear filters.
If that sounds like something you'd like to be a part of, log on now to The Pie Shop -> Youth Football Scotland Forums and let the debate begin!
