Just been speaking tae a few Queens fans,on Alex Harris and how he is doing.
Unfortunately for the kid it doesn't appear to be going well. Not really having a impact on any games, contributes little, powderpuff, flatters tae decieve, their words not mine.
Their hoping Hibs want him back, which going by their feedback is very doubtful.
Just doesn't seem tae have got over that injury.

Apart from the impact he made in that semi-final against Falkirk, i can think of little he did since. The talent is definately there, we`ve seen it but why it`s vanished beyond trace is anyones guess. Maybe the injury...others have come back from worse. Heart and determination....hmm. I wont cry if he doesn`t get another chance at Hibs.

To be honest he must have done his best work in the under 19's because like has been said, other than the goal in that semi there has been little to show. Reminds me of a certain Kurtis Byrne who was scoring goals a plenty in theunder 19's, swooping almost every trophy in his last season and then his Father trying to force Hibs to play him by goingpublic. He went on to slither down the leagues in Scotland. Seems to have found his level in Ireland though where he is plying his trade for premiership leaders and current champions Dundalk with not a huge return of 14 goals in 74 games

Disappointing to read that things are not going well for Alex Harris.

I disagree with fans who say that he only showed what was capable of in the semi at Hampden against Falkirk in 2013. He played several superb games in the first team before and after that match...I remember a derby at Tynecastle where he caused Hearts all ends of trouble. Having seen Alex Harris play loads of times for the Development team and in the first team I have absolutely no doubts that we had a special talent there. His touch, control and ability to take players on and go past them was a rare sight in the modern game. He also had the ability to get away from opponents and he could finish. The injury he sustained was a very serious one and came at a terrible time for him. He was then rushed back far too early into the first team by a desperate and under pressure Terry Butcher and that also affected his confidence badly...as did the almost constant, unwarranted and ridiculous abuse the lad received from the stands from some so called Hibs supporters. I hope he still can get back to what he was and I still have some optimism...but if ultimately he doesn't then Hibs and Scottish football will have lost a real talent.

I think he's mediocre. No player with ability goes this long without showing ability if he has it.

His confidence is gone for good. He won't make it as a footballer unfortunately.

He had ability for his age group/level. A bit like booth he's done very little since stepping up a level.

He was called a 'bottler' by many of his Hibs team mates.
Considering who his team mates were, that's a considerable criticism.

His style of play doesn't really suit a league full of journeymen kicking shit out of each other. Perhaps the MLS or a league like the Cypriot or Maltese league would be best for him to get some confidence back. Saying that now he will probably end up down the LOI with Danny Galbraith.Who accused him of being a bottler? I know towards the end of his time at us one of our senior players had a lot of time for young Alex.

But he showed real ability before his injury...so he does have it.

Sometimes though - and I'm not saying this necessarily applies to Alex Harris - players have an outstanding and eyecatching early start to their career but this becomes tempered when opposition players around the league have had a good look at them and played against them a time or two. Oppositions defenders can figure them out, which way they they tend to try to go past a player, what their strengths and weaknesses are etc. and know how to deal with them.

Alex is a nice ball player and an intelligent footballer but always appears a little timid to me. He DOES have talent but he needs to be able to assert himself in games and apply that talent. For whatever reason, he is failing to do that. I'm personally not hopeful he will but I really hope he proves me wrong.
