Woy quits Palace

Met him in a plane to London once. As nice as he is painted and that doesnae happen too often.

Must be hard retiring after a life mainly filled with constant adrenalin-soaked touchline action.
Just googled and he has managed 25 teams, including 2 twice. Only played 1 season with a senior league team, Crystal Place, would you believe .
Certainly done the rounds.
Hope you have a long retirement Roy, you deserve it.

Amazed he never got round to Hibs, everyone else has...

Did he not have a medical do-da last week?

I see Mowbray has stepped aside at Birmingham for 8 weeks or so today.
He collapsed at their training ground the day he was meant to be getting sacked. Fair play to him quitting after that and saving Palace cash for the good of the club.

New manager confirmed already.

It appears that Palace were talking to the new guy about taking over at the end of the season (before Roy took a bad turn). Interim managers (usually from within the club) rarely do well enough to get the gig so it makes sense in this scenario to bring things forward. Supporters usually have a long wait to hear what really happened but I prefer to rely more on the club's statements than press speculation.

Did an amazing job keeping Palace up during his first spell there as manager, think they'd lost their first 7 league games.

Aye that's when they sacked de boer isn't it ? Still think they should have kept viera last season instead of bringing a dinosaur like him back

Very good manager and a nice man. Bit surprised, I'd thought that Steve Cooper was a cert for that job.
