Reading some of the stuff about the ABC taking on wonga et al inevitably brings to mind the gunts shabby shirt deal, which is so emblematic of their whole sorry arsed recent history.

I am no citizen smith but would be tempted to boycott ER if we had a similar deal. What do others think?

I am generally in favour of capitalism for all its faults but wonga etc are just scum in my book.

I for one agree with you on my fealings towards the likes of Wonga.I noticed that the Archbishop of Canterbury expressed much the same concerns-just a pity that it turned out the Church of England had invested in them-how embarrasing was that?

Well they weren't directly and I'm sure he'll deal with that now. But anyway, if hibs did a deal with them what Would you do?

What would I do?erm set up Hibs against wonga campaign .Start off with a petition.Set up stalls outside Easter rd.See if I couldn't garner enough people to maybe go for an occupation of Wonga's offices-if they have any-that sort of thing.:dunno:

Sponsors are transient, Hibs are forever :)

There's been Hibs sponsors, quite recently, I've not been at all happy with but I've still gone along.

I think the test is would I work for them or stay on the dole? I was quite proud when a friend refused to do so. I refused to buy any merchandise with their name on it.

What sponsor you meaning here Jack?

we've had a lot of sponsors buy companies promoting alcohol, alcohol and sport is not a good mix in my opinion.:coffee:

I see Cisse of Newcastle has backed down in his dispute with the club over wearing wonga branded kit..

I would be raging if hibs signed a sponsorship deal with any company of that ilk

I think you can make an educated guess. :)

My reason for not mentioning them was not draw attention to them again, however this seems to have backfired a bit.

I also know that some folk here and on dotnet have ties with them so didn't want to go through the whole morals/no morals discussions again - IIRC they were as popular as Leigh G threads and as polarized as keep the manager threads.

Edit: I've just seen photographic evidence that shows I did have a top with this sponsor on it.
