Was in the supermarket yesterday and had a wee gander at the malt. I was surprised at the amount the priceof anything with an age on it had risen. Lots of none descript new lines with fashionable titles in. 30 or so.

must be a real supply/demand problem world wide.
 
I agree Kurt, I also think the industry has moved into making itself fashionable and adding a chunky premium to the price.

I used to enjoy a wee 25 year old Macallan, 7 or 8 a nip, 125/150 a bottle. A good price now is 500 a bottle. I've also noticed Macallan give their products a name now and your hard pushed to find the age. Sexing up the image while at the same time charging more for less.

Cadenheads prices seem to have held but they were never cheap in the first place. May go to their London place rather than pay 50 in Tesco for something that should be half the price.
