So she asks to borrow the money but it's someone elses fault because they gave her it ?
What a cretin

That was my first thought mate. She must have known that she couldn't pay it back when she was borrowing the money.

Don't get me wrong i disagree with these payday loan companies but surely if nobody used them they'd soon be gone . It's supply and demand i suppose

I'm with you there D.

However, how could someone unemplyed get a payday loan without telling a wee fib or two on the application?

A set up I reckon.

I tend to agree - it's just too prefect ' hitting al the buttons ski alludes to and more - her kids are visibly of different ethnic make-up and thus clearly of different fathers. The only interesting thing ahi it is that it's the mirror rather than the sun.

It's far too easy to get money from them, then they rape the people silly with interest. I've noticed watching the football, when the adverts start, it's usually Bet 365/William Hills, then Wonga loans. The ease of online gambling, and payday loans is going to become a big problem. Gambling advertising should be banned, just like smoking is.

While we are at it we should ban ads for fast food chains and chocolate on account of the fact that they are bad for you. And ads for cleaning products in case people with OCD are watching.

Where do you stop banning things?

In the article she says that her and her partner used these payday loans on a regular basis when they were both working and had no issue paying them back. I guess she's just omitted to tell them she is no longer working.

Obviously their fault for not checking , she is totally 100% innocent :hmmm

Unbelievable! she actually does seem to be putting the blame on the companies as if she is an innocent victim. Even sitting smiling like the cat who got the cream with chocolate on top.

Someone unemployed in my family asked her mother for500 to buy prezzies for her kids and was given a quick rebuke and zero money. Some people think the world really does owe them a living....then again hearts is yet another subject

They aren't forcing people to take out the loans though are they?

The interest rates are well known to be mentally high so anyone who takes out one of these payday loans and claims to have not known about the excessive interest is either a liar or a total numpty.

I agree with ForzaHibs about this and to be honest I reckon she has went to the papers to try and get the debt wiped by using 'aww my poor wee kids' as a sob story.

How are her kids meant to learn about the value of money etc if their mother is being completely irresponsible with it?

Folk fcuking frustrate me, they really do.

Should re-open debtors prisons, the lassie would have plenty Huns and mini Huns to keep her company:rascal:

On a serious note - a word of warning to anyone thinking about using online loan applications (Wonga is but one example), criminal gangs in South East Asia, mainly Pakistan, are intercepting these communications and contacting unsuspecting folk purporting to be the genuine loan company. They then dupe people out of cash by saying things like they need to pay the first monthly instalment up front as a gesture of good will, then it's followed up by a request for further cash because of the UK government tax rules, then there's some other bizarre reasons to pay more up front. The applicants are told to use Western Union or Ukash (both of which are SE Asian organisations). People are so desperate for the loan, they go along with it until it's too late and they've lost more than they stood to gain in most cases. Then they phone me. I get these jobs at least twice a week and, other than record the crime, there's fuck all we can do. People in the west are unwittingly funding the very terrorism our troops are out there battling against. How's that for irony.

Anyone fallling for that must be thick as fukk though Beagle. Take out a loan but pay the first monthly payment in advance - hmmm, sounds like a good deal. It's not as if it even sounds something kosher like my new mate who is a nigerian prince. Any day now he is transfering millions into my account, millions and all I had to do was pay some pesky legal fees off first.

With most online scams there is an element of stupidity on the part of the person who has been duped, however it's easy to see why they've gone along with it when there's the hollow promise of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow

I know mate I'm just being flippant.

I know, but when I walk in the door and they're all sitting about with hun shirts on, any sympathy I had before I arrived goes the same way as their cash.

and the fact that she won't means that the risks associated with loans for folk in her position is largw and therefore the interest rates are massive - from Wonga or the nearest loan shark. Its a vicious cycle.

Credit unions are a good idea, though.

Nawww. That was a scam - unlike the letter from China that I got about my lost lost great Uncle Albert who had made a fortune and died childless. Bank details I sent to China will be filled any day now. Funny thing is the letter was posted from Tooting.

Katie McGill, 28, has funded her Christmas by taking out eight loans with controversial payday lenders, including Wonga, to treat her two kids.

Simple answer: Katie simply takes out a ninth loan, changes her name by deed poll to Sevki McGill, then tells the loan companies that it was Old-Katie-Co that owes them the money.

And if her pals start to call her Sevki, she instantly points out that she is indeed still Katie, the same person, and that Sevki is but a convenient tax ruse.
Katie-co took out the loans, but her birth certificate states "Sevkie" so legally that is her name.

Now she only USES the nickname Katie and if her friends keep calling her Sevki, she will boycott their parties, and if they call her that again......she will burn their houses down. :dunno:

Works up here Katie-doll. :coffee:

So did I; Barringer Square. I liked Tooting Bec! Although I put on about two stone in six months - the Indian/Bangladeshi/Pakistani food was SO good.

The wee takeaway next to Tooting Bec tube used to do lamb Jalfrezi, rice, naan, and a can of Lilt for a fiver. I was there four nights a week.

I was reading someone's copy of The Sun yesterday on the way up to Dingwall and I read the same article then. Think the only difference is that The Mirror calls it 140 a fortnight and The Sun called it 70 a week that the woman has left to live on.

Christmas is a luxury, not a right or a need and as such there's no need to put yourself in that position now or at any other time of the year. Kids need love, nurturing, stimulation, food in their bellies, roofs over their heads and clothes on their back; they don't need "loads of games for their Xbox, a new TV and DVD player each, new bikes and hundreds of presents under the tree".

What ever happened to living within your means. If you can't afford it, don't buy it. Credit cards & now payday loans in most cases take advantage of the stupid and gullible.

I'm minded of the lyrics of this oft derided, but decent choon [IMO]

And all the roads jam up with credit
And there's nothing you can do
It's all just bits of paper
Flying away from you
Look out world take a good look
What comes down here
You must learn this lesson fast
And learn it well
This ain't no upwardly mobile freeway
Oh no, this is the road to Hell

I'm not sure if this is irony or not but an anagram of that ****'s name is Rich Arse.
