what was the competition where the offside changed?

Was it the Texaco cup or something?Think there was an extra line drawn on the pitch where you couldn't be offside,it was supposed to increase the goal tally.It obviously didn't catch on because it isn't a thing now.

First one, not the second one where Alan Gordon scored to win.

I always thought the extra line for offside (like the shooting line on a subbuteo pitch) was a great idea. Especially in the 80s when we kept getting caught offside about 6" into Dundee Utd's half.

Was at both.Just forgot that was where the offside was changed.
 
I think the offside line extending from the edge of the penalty area was also used in the league cup maybe in 1974? If you look at highlights of the final where we lost 6-3 to Celtc you can see the markings on the pitch. I'm too lazy to look for a link right now.
