Just got into a conversation on another football forum, a member from falkirk was talking in the Hearts forum and disclosed that he would be supporting hibs for the semi beacuse his cousin plays for them (much to his shame) and then said "He will be leaving soon anyway".

Regardless to say i joined in the convo and eventualy he told me that

Ofcourse I'm proud of him! Cousin is McCluskey! Think he's regularly on the bench! No bad wee player!

cani see big T-mowb lettin um go, maybe's he's goni go on loan ti get sum games under his belt :hmmm

Jinky is certainly no too happy at being overlooked, especially with the current (and recent) injury list.

think jinky is still in tony's plans, just needs a wee bit of beef and stregth to his game, the pace and skill are there.

wouldnt be surprised if he went on a loan deal, but dont think he will be leaving imo

Was told from someone who works with the youth players that Mogga has been telling Jinky to get into the gym and toughen up for months and Mcluskeys made little effort to do so, so maybe some truth in what your saying Eck.

Sad as the talent is clearly there to see but he does need to add strength to his game if he wished to progress :(

Aye, at the same time, it must be hard for him, isnt he still at school:dunno:

I think he might go actually. He is clearly too small and has no bulk about him either.

Whats that got to do with anything:dunno:

His size is one of his main assets.

If he was a fat **** he'd be a slow ****.

Height doesn't have to be important but he has no stature. Look at the likes of Rooney and Maradona for example.

Riordans not the biggest bloke in the world, hasnt stopped him doing his job.

HE's still a young guy, he hasnt started filling out yet, wait till he's about 18-19 before commenting on that, you cant rush nature.

Wouldnt be surprised,no pace, little strength, can beat players for fun but cant get away from them.

I don't think Hibs will wait on him to be honest.

i would be very disapointed in jinky was to leave, that would be such a waste of a good young talent

maybe he should go out on loan and prove to tony how good he is !

Jinkys is definetly a lad with some potential, hope this is a loan deal if its true. Think both us and Jamie would benifit from this.

But if he is leaving us, who in the SPL would give him first team football right now, week in week out?

Falkirk, Aberdeen, Livi, Dunfermline, Dundee United, Kilmarnock.....

And St johnstone were after him a while back IIRC

Tony Mowbray said at the AGM last year that Jamie McCluskey was the most techically gifted player he had at Easter Road. He was amazed that no team wanted to take him on loan as he clearly needs regular first team football, and to fill out a bit.

I have to say though, that having watched him play in the reserves mainly over the last couple of years, I do not think he has developed at all as a player. He is still the same as he was 2 years ago both physically and as a footballer. A decision is going to have to be made soon about his future. He is an entertainer, no doubt about that, but he needs to add so much more to his game, and more impotantly, he has to have the desire to learn from his coaches.

None of those clubs would give him first team football.

that Jay shields is smaller than jinky but is much more built. He needs more of jay's build about him i think.:bbb:

school???? he is 18 and left school 2 years ago. he is a full time professional footballer at hibs.

Jinky is a brilliant wee player. I still remember the game against livi where they took Dean Shiels off for Jinky and he completly turned the game. Chased everyball beating players for fun. The boy is a talent and if he bulked up a bit more then he'd be even better.

he is 18:wink:

i heard he's on his way as well, decent source an aw...:dunno:

I think the wee fella has great talent but I don't think he's progressed at all in the last year or so. There's no doubt he's got great ability but too often he seems more intent on trying to fool a player with a step-over (one trick pony?) rather than keep the move flowing. I think he could still make it at Easter Road but I've got my doubts. Think he's similar to Tam McManus in attitude and can see him in the First Division before too long. Would be delighted to be proved wrong though.

Spot on mate, Hibs are the only team in the league that have a decent youth programme, noone else would take him right now as it's too big a risk

First Division Player...would do well with a team like Clyde or Ross County, then he could maybe prove us wrong my developing physically coming back up into the premier and sticking one up us.

he's definately no still at school - gotta remember it's about 2years since he broke into the team now.

The excuses of him no getting regular games back then can't be wheeled out now.....

BUT Riordan and O'Connor were of the same age, but took Deeks another year to properly establish himself in the team because of his size. Every chance that if Jinky DOES work hard in the gym to bulk himself up a bit (not in terms of piling on the pounds, just in making himself stronger in same way that Deeks did) then he could stay - otherwise he could end up being another player who never fulfilled his potential.
