Venues for Champagne Breakfast/Smoker's event

Hi folks,
I'm looking for suggestions/recommendations from connected Bouncers who know of venues that would accomodate a group for an end of champagne brekkie/smoker's do type thing. It won't be until around June of next year but obviously we're looking to get things organised ASAP as we'll have to book guest speakers etc.

A couple of things;

  • It's a combined end of season awards ceremony/champagne breakfast for an amateur football team
  • We're only likely to need somewhere that can accomodate 150-175 people at most (i.e. we're relatively small, not EofS or Junior so we won't be bringing hundreds of people!).
  • We're happy to consider any venue - i.e. social club, Hotel, function room etc.
  • The venue will have to be able to put on a buffet - i.e. cooked breakfast, stovies, h n & t or something along those lines (nothing fancy)
  • We're based at Drumbrae but the squad is spread across Edinburgh so we're not too fussy about where it is, as long as it's central.

I've been to a few at a massive venue just off Leith Walk (think it's a Post Officers Club or something) but that's probably a bit too big for what we're looking for.

Any help appreciated - either by way of posting here or PM me.

The Hibs Club and the Masonic Hall at Shrubhill seem to be quite popular for these kinds of things.

Been to a smokers thing in the Hibs Club in the past, was a good day. I would ask them for a quote mate

Pat Stanton Lounge in the Hibs Club holds 150, Famous Five 230, 25 hire and a returnable deposit of 50 in case someone decided to smash something. Best value in Edinburgh.
