@Rocky I watched that video at the time, that female is an evil wee harridan…… she wants the whole world to go up in flames I reckon….. anyway there is now a follow up interview with the same guy who has obviously been told to rein it in.
Takes quite a different and more Russki positive view.

Thought I'd copied the script down correctly. The story is from the Guardian 3 days ago.News has come through that a couple coming from the Ukraine have been left homeless as they have fallen out with their hosts. These stories are going to become more common place unfortunately.
There have been a lot like that. One family arrived to be text by their hosts to say the hosts have left the country on holiday and no further details I suppose it's a bit like a puppy for Christmas. People see a sad story and want to help u til the reality hits home. Just because someone is a refugee doesn't mean they will be the kind of person you want in your house. And as for calls to house all the refugees from all over the world, people perhaps to fail to understand the homeless situation we already have
Hotels might sound a good option but they are horrendously overpriced

Most of the homeless hotels and bed and breakfasts are owned by one very rich guy who lives in a mansion in Silverknowes

There are plenty of empty properties in the UK,homelessness shouldn't be a problem in the UK.
Shouldn't be but it is. Many properties are unfit for use..others owned as second homes etc or dodgy landlords. A lot of places are overpriced for benefits to cover them

yeh, did you also see the one with the girl in the playground telling everyone that Ukraine should be free and Putin is evil? I am no use trying to upload from phone. She was arrested and she and her Mother forced to say they support the special operation. This was in Dagestan.

A confidential report by the Federal intelligence service states that at least two far right groups, containing neo-Nazis and extremists have joined Russia's attack on Ukraine. The Russian Imperial league and the Rusich group have been identified.

Russia are heavily shelling many areas as they try to make conditions favourable for counter attacks. They are making some progress but a lot of theirlilitary vehicles may be caught out in the open.

Russian Aeroflot will soon likely have to dismantle many of their aeroplanes as they have no spare parts due to sanctions. Their current fleet of 350 planes could be decimated as their routes have also reduced from 56 countries to just 13

Monkeypox is currently spreading around Europe. With a death rate of between 1-11% Belgium, have ordered a 21 day quarantine for patients. Doctor's are warning of a significant increase in transmission in the UK.

Avdivka in Donetsk is the latest town to be getting wiped from the map as RF destroy everything in sight and locals have no chance of fighting the fires due to constant shelling. Recall that RF had a special operation to kill/capture Azov troops which they have and liberate this region...liberation appears to mean liquidation.

Poland ask that Norwegian oil giants should be putting money back into Europe and Ukraine as they stand to make more than 100 billion euros from the extra sales and increased prices of oil.

Main targets destroyed today were 7 tanks and 1 SU-25 jet, amongst other transport hit was two trucks loaded with ammunition

Self-determination is an important principle. It matters

in Scotland, it matters in Catalonia, it matters in the Falklands and it matters in Ukraine.

There was no real talk of Ukraine joining NATO before Russia started annexing chunks of it. There were no Western troops gathering in Eastern Europe before Russia went on manoeuvres. Suggesting this is a product of Western aggression is just deranged imo. There's plenty of that to criticise elsewhere.

Putin has no interest in democracy or consensus or reputation or legacy. He has no interest in using international forums as anything other than an opportunity to bind over his rivals and paint them as hypocrites for breaching rules he's never obeyed even remotely. He's only ever going to back down if he risks losing face on his terms, not on anyone else's. If he means to move on Kyiv - and there's every indication he does, or at least did - only the credible threat of a military defeat is going to stop him. And from there it'll be Moldova watching tanks roll in from Transnistria. And then Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, all NATO members, facing demands to demilitarise in the sake of Russian security. And then, well, those countries have ethnic Russian minorities that need protecting.
I've read some rubbish on this thread but you 'analysis 'takes the biscuit. For you and happy thumbs up clappers I hope that this article from a week or more back puts some of this tosh into perspective. I am increasingly deparing for the loved ones of civilian families who have lost loved ones but also those of workers in uniform, both Ukrianian and Russian.
Perhaps sadder is the proxy war between US and Russian Imperialist ambitions leading Volodymyr Zelenskyy by the nose.
Today Biden has met with other concerned countries regarding the aims of capitalist super power China. At the same time documentation confirming what we all knew about the brutal treatment of Muslim Uyghur in China. 1 million in concentration camps, sorry rehabilitation centres.
Why are the Western powers not sanctioning them? Take a wee look at where your iPhone or any other products are produced. Hypocracy.

Whats YOUR answer then G ?
Because China mistreats its minorities just let Russian tanks roll over ukraine.
Will you be watching the world Cup in a Muslim country that mistreats its immigrant workers? I wont.
I'm still waiting to see how many moralistic footballers that took the knee for a black American thug refuse to play in a country that practices modern day slavery.
Hypocracy abounds.

The whole worl is riddled with hypocracy I font see Arsenal supporters clambering to get rid of their stadium bame despite the fact that the Russian Oligarchs are flooding into..and being welcomed into the Emirates to buy up houses and sail their yaughts.
I dont get you Gordon. I can see your whole anti west rhetoric and can understand to a point what your saying about NATO...but your support of Russia has been pretty pathetic..ok you might say you dont support Russia, but neither have you said a word about the atrocities they commit, instead preferring to question the validity of every report that isn't in socialist monthly Neither have you questioned why Russia who claim to be denazifying a group of soldiers in the East of Ukraine have bombed the shit out of half the country, surely they may have gained more support sticking to a small area?

As to Muslims of course it is horrible what China are doing to that group but have you ever questioned the huge masses of Muslims who would turn from their own family or even kill them for the charge of leaving their own faith? Tolerance is not something they know the meaning of and the rights of woman for them make Russia look pretty liberal. But keep going on about the West finally standing up to imperial Russia and blaming NATO for every.ill in the world whilst sleeping safely on your bed with little chance Russia would dare bomb Scotland except in the case of Putin finallly turning absolutely mad.

it puts nothing into perspective because it's a load of chaff. Do the Americans want Russia weakened? Yes, obviously. They're a rival for geopolitical influence all over the place and there's never been much of a compassionate drive baked into the yanks' foreign policy. Did Georgia, Moldova, Finland, Estonia, Ukraine etc etc all want Russia weakened before all this? Yes, obviously. They're belligerent, expansionist, and have a long-established and exhaustively documented doctrine of committing war crimes as a first resort. Are people in Eastern Europe incapable of independent thought without having Washington tell them what they think? Is this what your anti-imperialism looks like: the belief that formerly conquered peoples are incompetent without a great power to guide them?

I think your insistence on exculpating Putin of any practical blame for the horrors he chooses to inflict - delivered through the medium of 'have you read this?' so you can't be personally criticised for the views you expound at every turn with not a drop of genuine empathy for the victims - is both intellectually and morally void. I don't know if there's any self-awareness in play here, but if there is it's pathetic and if there's not it's tragic.

That itself tells a very sorry story. Back to your 'facts' then Davy. How many US Intelligence reports leaked today?
Be clear, the last think that the US, UK et al want is a negotiated peace.

Democratic demands are always subordinate to the general interests of the working class and the struggle for socialism.

Precisely the kind of thinking that led to the Gulag.

Interests as defined by whom...? Democracy doubtless has its kinks, but I'll take it over dictatorship all day long.

We just heard on the news that both warmongering, defenders of freedom and democracy, Liz Truss and Joe Biden have both respectivel proclaimed disgust and shock at the revelations, which of course are not revelations.
Will the US, UK or EU sanction China. Zero chance, after all is said and done, Business is business.
