23 days left in the transfer window in Scotland and I was giving some thought to what players are likely to be moving for reasons other than their club wanting rid.
First up 2 players that have less than 10 months on their contracts and their clubs have to sell now or risk losing them for nothing;
1. McCowan of Dundee falls into this category, aged 26 and of the best season of his career. I reckon Dundee want 750k for him but that price will fall to 500k if they don't get English Championship interest as the player shows no interest in extending his deal. I think he will leave Dundee the wek after they play Hibs.
2. Tefal of Hearts. A clever and lethal striker who again has no interest in signing an extended contract. His transfer value at the moment is no more than 2 million. As we found with Nisbet the players value is falling as his contract runs down. Hearts either take 1.75 million quid for 29 years old Shankland or keep him for the season given he could be of more value to them playing at home and European competition. I think Hearts will hold onto him.
Second up, 2 players that are the currently non contracted players whose movement is not restricted by the window.
1. Ryan Jack, good player and not that old at 32 but injuries are his issue. Wouldn't be surprised to see him rock up at Tynecastle.
2. Stevie Mallan, great striker of a ball but as we know, not the most mobile. He has had a horrendous time with injuries for a couple of years now and has barely played. I expect him to sign for a Championship club if he can prove his fitness. I wish him the very best of luck.
Lastly, 2 players that their clubs are likely to lose because they are in demand
1. The big one for me is Miovski. His star is high and they are looking for 6 million quid. He's worth that and his likely destination for that money would be the English Championship.
If he stays I think Aberdeen will finish 3rd this season due to Hearts European commitments in the first half of the season. If he leaves they would have to find a quality replacement, probably on loan, and if they can't they will be fighting it out with Hibs and Killie.
2. Riley of Celtic but who wants to join in that borefest.
Any more players you can think of that fit the 3 criteria above.
