Traffic chaos at foot of Leith Walk

If anyone is thinking of heading down that way, here's some advice....don't.
I was down there this afternoon and it was absolute carnage.
The tram works in Constitution Street are now extending into the junction area with Leith Walk/Duke Street/Great Junction Street, and as a result temporary lights are up, and quite honestly I have never seen traffic chaos like it anywhere in Edinburgh.
Tail backs right back along Duke Street and right along the Links, right up Easter Road and Duke Street, and Great Junction Street. Literally nothing was moving and car horns sounding constantly. I don't know how long this work is going to go on for and how long the lights will be up, but they are going to have to do something about it soon. I ended up walking home as there was no chance of a bus arriving to the stop I was at.
Cars should probably be banned from the area until further notice.

Stuck on the M74 for 6 hours last night as they cleared a crash tops that 🤣

I've started taking food parcels to the drivers on ER!

It's not as bad, this morning and at the moment, as it was yesterday. It really is a shocker though.

Got caught in it yesterday heading to get season tickets sorted. Nightmare all over Leith at the moment.

Not only there, the bypass could easily substain fast food outlets on the hard shoulder
