Tour de France 2027.

If I've got it right the Grande Depart in 2027.I don't know the whole details it was just on the news. But as someone who likes to cycle;I might go and watch.

What does everyone reckon , the last kilometer along Princess Street or up the Royal mile on the cobblestones? Along the mile would make great tv viewing, with the chance of a crash if its wet.

Saw the Tour some 30 years ago while visiting friends in the Haute Savoie.
It was mid stage and it was all over in a few minutes!
One guy out front and the rest about a minute behind!
Probably see a bit more in Embra.

Along Niddrie Mains Road then up tae Captains Road on the 5th of November. Nae need tae worry about the weather.

Hope the cvnts stick to the cycle lanes that the council has spent £'s thousands on. And stay away from Little France 😤

If it's the Grand Depart how about from the esplanade at Edinburgh Castle (where the stands will be up for the tattoo), down the Royal Mile to Holyrood Park, round the park, down to Musselburgh, back in along the coast, through the city then head south via Little France. Princes Street would look amazing, but tram tracks would be an issue. Could do the team presentation at the castle or Ross Bandstand.

Just no Archie. I already have The Riding of the Marches down my street.

Little France says NO.

I went all the way up the toon one time to watch The Riding of the Marches not knowing the fuckers came down the street. Silly auld goat. (Nae riding of the goat as there is no masonic lodge in the street)

Went to le en angleterre in 1994 at Portsmouth and Brighton

Pretty epic, and a great spectacle.

The scale is huger now though, so I’ll be there but it will be along with what will seem like the whole of Scotland.

Another route would be down Royal Mile, out to Musselburgh, back along the coast, over the Forth Road bridge and back into town.

Used to be le tour started with a prologue but I don’t think they’ve done that for years. My reading of what’s suggested is 2 or 3 stages going through Scotland England and wales, so it’s likely the first stage will start in Edinburgh and finish in somewhere near England second stage will be from north of England to wales and final stage will be from wales to to somewhere in England.

Probably three road stages without too many hills and no time trials or team time trials.

That's what French media are reporting too.

I thought a circuit starting in the park, wee trip round @Power hill aka Arthur’s Seat, out of Edinburgh , over the bridge, along to Kincardine, passing the Kelpies and Linlithgow Palace, back to Edinburgh for a sprint up the high street. Would be great visuals for the helicopter TV and should be about the right length. Leaving Edinburgh and just heading south might be fairly bland
