Anyone remember this show?

Like the Bachelorette but the straight guys are tricked in to competing for the affections of a trans woman ( with cock)

Just watching a documentary about it on All4. Absolutely shocking how all of them, including Miriam, were fucked over and exploited.

The documentary takes an even worse turn when it focuses on what happened to Miriam after the show.

Can’t understand why I missed that series.

Actually, I think I can.

Vaguely remember it, just reading up on wikipedia...you would be cancelled for that kind of nonsense now.

It's not funny, but this made me squirm:

he contestants on the show were:

  • Mark Dimino, 24, optician
  • Toby Green, 23, student
  • Aron Lane, 22, chef
  • Tom Rooke, 23, lifeguard and ex-ski instructor
  • Scott Gibson, 22, martial arts expert
  • Dominic Conway, 28, Royal Marine

Clearly a no very good one

Aye. The original show was about 20 years ago. The specifics might not interest anyone but it's a horrifying example of the media chewing people up and spitting them out in the pursuit of entertainment.
As one of the "stars" of a programme once said. They wanted a circus and we're the fucking clowns that agreed to appear on it. TV companies shouldn't be exploiting people.

Absolutely. And I say that as someone who loved a bit of reality tv.

I think the penny dropped when I chummed my pal to audition for the X factor. None of the panel were there. Just producers putting people through for Simon Cowell to take the piss out of on tv.

You're right. Modern equivalent of the Victorian freak show.

Aye. I've had this conversation before but Jade Goody? (I don't think that was about race, it was about class and education)

Channel 4 put people in a situation designed to bring out the worst in them and then hang them out to dry when they do.
