the semi final draw

Not really that bothered. They can play the ties on Pluto.....

So I guess we wont be playing sevco that weekend? Hmm might gimme the chance to do Jedburgh half marathon I thought I wouldn't be able to do as sevco game was put a day late

Hearts V Celtic at Murrayfield, Huns V Northern Huns @ Hampden - both on the Sunday.

Looks like our home game V Rangers will be moved to midweek.

If I were celtc I would be raging at that considering hearts played a season at murrayfield so not really a "neutral" venue :sm113:

Given the SFAs complete ineptitude I wouldn't be surprised to see the gunts travelling to Hampdump and Celtc fans travelling to Murrayfield :icon-lol: One things for sure and thats that they wont make the currants have to travel through here for a semi final.

Both games at Hampdump....on the same day!! Gunts v Soap Dodgers at 7.45pm on a Sunday night....

Aberdeen fans can’t get a train there for kickoff, and Hearts fans can’t get a train home after full time due to the Sunday service from ScotRail - brilliant.

Nevermind that the Jambos will be there early getting on the bevy.

The price Scottish football pays for success in the Europa league apparently. Nuts.

Seems a bit strange that Neil Doncaster has come out and said all the clubs were consulted and hearts haven’t made a statement

On a serious note, if the spfl are allowed to get away with this it is the best evidence yet that the game is rigged in Scotland. It directly impacts the gunts and sheep, but indirectly affects all clubs as it may be us that get shafted royally next time. Time these fucks were called to account

The thing with Aberdeen is pre privatisation,British Rail would have put on football specials.

While I don't give a shit for the or the gunts it's as in your face as is possible saying the supporters don't matter.

If the fixtures were reversed I'm assuming the lesser clubs fans could have travelled with comparative ease.

If swapped jambos would be okay but sheeps would have no chance of public bus or train hame.

No sure why the Jambos are moaning,7.45 kick off in Glasgow isn’t unusual. Last train is 11.30 so only really a push if it goes to Pens....

Takes me back a bit. Went on a few down South. The state of the trains at the end of the day was shocking.

Let’s have a quick look at this to figure out how Aberdeen will get on when their fans arrive at Queen Street.

At best, it’s a cab that’ll take fifteen minutes; an attempt to walk would see the journey take an hour. In order to get through the gate, given crowds, and get to your seat, you’re likely to need fifteen to thirty minutes once you reach Hampden. Let’s use thirty minutes and consider kick-off time as the point of arrival, looking at this in a worst-case scenario.

Ultimately, this means that Aberdeen fans will need to arrive at Queen Street by approximately 1115 and, thus, give themselves a painfully tight 45 minutes to get to the match.

What this means is that they’ll need to leave the night before. Epic.

As far as Hearts are concerned, the Sunday night fixture will start at 1945 and, therefore, conclude at 2130 in the best case scenario. The last train they’ll be able to get for a return to Edinburgh is at 2330 (from Queen Street to Waverley), which presumably means that two hours is plenty, yeah?

So how long do we think they’ll take to get out of the stadium, find a taxi (or bus) to Queen Street and board the train assuming they already have their tickets?

What if they win and are in no rush to leave, or the match goes to extra time and penalty kicks? I’d say that’s a good hour to sort out, giving Hearts supporters an hour to complete a journey that there isn’t the services TO complete. Even if they manage it, in a best case scenario, they’ll be at Waverley approaching midnight, with next to no public transport to get them home, on a night where most will be working the following morning.

It’s an absolute fucking DISGRACE that supporters are being treated in this way. And, as per usual, the Glasgow mafia will have substantially less problems because they’ll have next to no problems returning to whatever shag pit they crawled out of to watch their sport-poisoning ‘heroes’.

And people ask why I’ve no intention of returning to a Scottish football match.

I don't care about hearts or aberdeen or their fans but this is a complete disgrace. Doncaster has paid no heed to fans outwith Glasgow and has shown his true colours. He should be forced to step down. What would have been wrong with playing one tie at Hampden and one at Murrayfield - both could be 3.00 kick offs and everyone could get there easily enough and get home safely and without the worry of missing the last bus/train. There is also the potential for complete carnage in Glasgow so I'm surprised that the polis agreed to this.

Doncaster stated that he had agreed this with all four teams but no sooner had he uttered the lie, Aberdeen and Hearts were complaining about it. The Budge said it was ridiculous and The Sheep issued an official statement. He doesnt give a flying fukk about fans who dont have the misfortune to support either cheeks of the bigoted arse.

It's been painfully obvious forever that Doncaster is no good on absolutely every level. Fans have repeatedly been shafted by his actions, teams have been shafted, the quality of our leagues and national team have suffered. Teams need to demand he is removed from Scottish football but I've never really been aware of any such move so the fault actually lies with all the clubs including Hibs.

Totally agree with you there VDG.

I remember when Hibs beat the Rangers on a Thursday night semi final at Hampden,ET and penalties.
No remembering the uproar about the kick off time :sm113:

The attendance from us was about 8-9K.
Guess folk voted with their feet.

9k was our average attendance that season so not bad.
It was perfect tbh,no day trippers and the whole end backed the team from start to finish.
For a cup semi final it was a rotten attendance. I enjoyed it for the reasons you describe but it wasn't a good turnout. And it was probably as much that our fragile support didn't think we had a chance as anything. But some of it would be it was on a school night in Glasgow. My pair of wee dafties were in the minority and I was grateful for an understanding primary school teacher who was from a family of Hibbies who turned a blind eye to an early departure from school and a sleepy pupil in the morning...

Actually I'm not sure we took as much as that, too be honest. attendance was only 27K total.

2004?

The internet was in it's infancy, everyone was still being nice to each other! Nobody had thought to use it to whinge en masse.

;-)

Craig Levein’s interview on the matter is spot on, as much as he’s a clown, fair play to him for calling out the SPFL on this.

When I got back to The Antiquary after the game the barmaid said to me that it was the happiest she had ever seen me look. I had a thought on how she could improve on that but I kept quiet.

I remember it pouring down on the way through,Thunder and Lightning too.
I’m sure the Semis were always midweek up until a few years ago(7?).
Must admit i loved going to the midweek games when i was wee,big atmospheres and buzzing but tired the next day at school.
