Don't know if anyone's watching the latest documentary on it Looks like there may have been a misscarriage of justice akin to the fire in the flat. But TC Campbell making comparisons with him and the Guilford 4 or the Birmingham 6 is boak inducing.

TC Campbell is dead, no?

I find it really uncomfortable watching a really, really bad guy getting to be the focus of a miscarriage of justice instead of resolving who actually did it.

The thing is I wouldnae trust the Weedgie polis of the time any more than North Yorkshire or the Met.No doubt some bouncers might dispute that view.

I've read TC Campbell's book , and it's quite obvious he was no angel. It's also pretty obvious that the authorities where desperate to see him put away for something, having tried several times to see him locked up for a lengthy spell . There was quite a lot more to the story that wasn't mentioned in the two programs.
I have a friend who trained as a lawyer back around the time of the Paddy Mehan trail ( another one who was released and pardoned after a miscarriage of justice) and he told me that he and others like that got away with far more than they ever convicted him of, and they wanted him locked up for something , guilty or not as long as he was inside

I remember the big funeral afterwarss at old Monmland cemetry in Coatbridge. Danny McGrain was at it if I remember correctly

You heard of this book before?.......

This is the first complete account of the dramatic attempt by the Irish Republican Army to rescue their comrade Brigadier Frank Carty from a prison van as he was being conveyed to Duke Street Prison in Glasgow on 4th May 1921. In the gunfight, Inspector Johnston was killed and his colleague Detective Sergeant Stirton of Glasgow police was seriously wounded.

No, but thanks for heads up - I’ll get that - looks an interesting read about a little known subject.

Just watched the second part - I know Gordon Ritchie quite well from him being a director at Morton. Good guy, for a lawyer.

There's a smashing song about it.

I bought a few things in Iceland earlier (the shop no the country) and seen crunchie ice lollies.

Just scranned one.

Very very nice indeed and worth a purchase if you like tasty ice lollies. 😉
