Signs that Russia are getting into bed and creating an alliance with China (though really China look after self), Saudi, Iran, Nth Korea, and possibly Palestianians. Maybe others like Syria, Egypt? Anyway how do you see the new alliance growing?

I have found arguments I have read persuasive, that these kind of alliances are fundamentally unstable because they are so asymmetrical. China is so powerful compared to the rest, and with its own interests like you say, that it’s all hopelessly lopsided.

I think it’s a set of marriages if convenience from disparate actors united by opposition to western liberalism and intent on breaking its dominance - as the lingo would have it, moving from a unipolar to multipolar (political) world.

The world is returning to its historical civilisational blocks, with the exception of the west which seems intent on eradicating its own. If some of those non western actors need to hang together for a while on the road to that, they will. But I don’t think they have common interests.

Russia would of been quite happy to have had an alliance with the west,Putin stated this on several occasions....but your masters have pushed him to China.


Which makes the world a whole different ballgame.

Putin is definitely trustworthy.
When he said he had no intention of invading Ukraine he definitely didn’t.

Whist I agree with your comments - I just cannae see it happening.
I think we're all pretty fucked.

All 'great' civilisations run their course then collapse and I think we're fast approaching that stage now.

I don’t think that will happen. I think it more likely the world will go through a rough patch of sabre rattling and then return to what it was like for most of recorded history ; rival great powers with spheres of influence.

Europe might disappear but if so it will be because Europe does it to itself.

That said, China and Russia have humongous internal problems which is one reason they have the sabres jangling, and the Arab world is really threatened by the shift away from oil and by Islamic fundamenalism. So it’s certainly not off the table that it all ends in tears.
