I though an Independent Scotland was going to be a thrusting, dynamic place, though.
Our national dress is a skirt with a handbag over the front. Is that not enough?

That'll be why the scots invented half the modern world and the Scandinavians perfected flat pack furniture
Oh and we pay more than enough for public services - if quality is an issue, i suspect it has different roots. The scandies have private supply and limits on services that would have the masculine scots beelin at the level of competitive heroism required

It just defies belief to read scotland described as if was a cold Singapore. Deary me.
On the plus side, Scandinavia is certainly one model we can evaluate as an option to try and copy. But by eck (boom boom) we'll need some social transformation.
